Valor feels bad

You explained your weird use of the system that doesn’t actually address any of the issues described. Then you made weird claims that your way is how the devs intended people to play the game…

Brewa has said what many people have said, including me.

Yes, it makes perfect sense as a gear optimizer. Sorry you don’t like that, but it’s true anyways.

And it having the same name as a previous currency means less than nothing. You think the word makes it contractually bound to a previous version? What a joke.

Call it Anima Dust in your head or something if it makes you feel better.

Im not going to ever use Valor, because I dont like this games PvE. Never did. Never will. So let me convert Valor I get from doing some random Covenant/WQ to Conquest. Thanks!

Actually let me convert everything to Honor and Conquest. Everything else is pointless. Also let me convert Mark’s Of Honor to actual Honor for my 11 alts. 500-1000 points per Markmaybe. Thanks!

It doesn’t man. It doesn’t help you fill holes as you still have to wait for rng. Then thanks to the cap you don’t want to upgrade anything because you’re worried you’ll get it out of the chest at a higher ilvl and it would all be wasted.

Bad systems will be bad.

It’s just ironic that they used the same name of a constantly returning system but made it worse in every possible way. Classic Blizzard moves of late though. Ask pvpers about the PvP vendors lol

It wouldn’t feel bad if they would have offered a 220 to 226 upgrade cost.

If you were lucky you got one or two of the drops to upgrade that you were actually pursuing back when valor was a valid option. All drops, for that matter, were few and far between when valor was fluid. I recall lucking into subpar item drops and feeling like they were meaningful simply because I was loot starved.

400 valor is the highest valor cost as is. Make it 500 or 600 to go from 220 to 226.

  • Helmet & Chest are 475, and I’m pretty sure Pants are too, but I don’t have a pair to check
  • Weapons cost 750 - 1k

because in typical blizzard fashion they have to take something that should be really simple and over complicate it and take a community request and twist so far beyond what any one wanted. valor shouldve been done just like the azerite armor vendor in BFA.

I think the intention behind “valor” was to drive more people into Mythics (not everyone likes to do them). Just like “conquest” is there to drive more people into Rated PVP. What do Mythics and Rated PVP have in common? Both are part of Blizzard’s esports.

My guess is that Blizzard is trying to increase participation in both Rated PVP and Mythics in the hopes of more people competing in the esport tournaments.

To the original point… I think that they should not be making “valor” the only reward for Callings. But instead, give the player a choice of currencies to pick from (such as “Grateful Offering” which would help the transmog / mount collectors).

It’s useless to m+ players and raiders. It’s actually meant for heroic raiders. Like they need anything else silver spooned to them.

I’d guess he’s talking about this. I don’t know though.

Yeah and ironically it kinda just proves my point more. Although I can see where he got his ideas.

This again is one of the problems I described with no vendor (and a vendor being present in the past). You’re sitting there forever waiting for the item you neee to drop before you upgrade. It just feels super bad.

Then to top it off, you upgrade something and then next week it gets replaced in the vault. Just a terrible system.

Nowhere in here does it say that people doing ksm should go run 0s to farm the specific item you need. Like he’s suggesting. Legitimately the point of the upgrade system is to give people who can’t manage high keys a point of trying all dungeons to start upgrading slowly.

The valor system is garbage. Without a vendor it fixed NOTHING.

shrug I was just curious what he could be referencing and went digging.
