I am trying to learn arena and many guides show using macros for targeting party members and enemy teams. I tend to use mouseover heals with vuhdo for healing and just target the player I want to use an attack on.
Would trying to learn target macros change my gameplay much? I just feel like it adds so many more buttons for me to push so I am a bit hesitant, but am stuck in the 1500s and want to improve.

is mouseover heal meaning you click the heal button whilst hovering over your teammate?
No I click the button hovering over a grid with player names on it. I never need to target my teammates.
I’ve never played like that but I imagine it’s pretty terrible for arena because you need to use your mouse to turn your camera
You could probly get away with keyboard turning for a while as healer because you don’t need to be facing your target to heal them but it’s definitely a good habit to get out of if you are doing it
Do not recommend using vuhdo at all. if you’re looking at where your mouse cursor is, you’re not paying attention to whats going on around you. Also you use your mouse for movement and readjusting your camera.
Using mouseover stuff is generally a habit you want to break asap if you wanna heal arenas.
Example, you need to see something thats off your screen, but you also need to heal your partner. using arena macros you can do both at once, using mouseover macros you cannot (at least efficiently).
Kiting around a pillar with your partner and you need to heal your partner, you need to use teh mouse to turn somewhat and heal your partner at the same time while moving.
I sill use my mouse to move the camera. I do not keyboard turn.

I was thinking that could be what is keeping me back. I guess I will need to try to learn how to use the target macros.

IC well saying if you use ur mouse to heal, theres gonna be times where you need to turn your camera and heal at the same time, you can’t do that with mouseover
use ur scroll wheel for targetting allies
