Heya!
I have been wanting to rp a human for a long time, but I really don’t like how the human models look 
What it be stupid to use the void elf race but rp as a human ? Or would that be a no no ?
i don’t really think people would really care that much, but maybe really consider why you don’t like their models.

I just find the male model looks a bit weird with its proportions (looks like he has tumorous forearms) and I’m not the biggest fan of their animations maybe it’s just something I’d need to get used to ?

We live on a planet that once got stabbed by a cosmic space giant with a really big sword. If someone tells me there are humans that look like void elves who am I to say they’re wrong?

At that point you might want to ask yourself if your character being identified as human matters that much to you and instead just play either a High Elf or Void Elf.

Should not technically be an issue what you are using as a proxy to pretend that they are something else. We are all here to play pretend to begin with, and surely I can play pretend that your VE character is a human 
Another option is playing as an Arathi; as the War Within version, not the typical human from Arathi, Eastern Kingdoms. I have seen people use both human and void elf versions for that.

Could always play a half elf as well. While the idea of playing an Arathi as suggested may be tempting I don’t think personally that there is any reason why there would have left Khaz Algar yet. They have no mages to go back home and they’ve never shown a desire to want to leave either.

Technically they could visit the rest of Azeroth in the same way that the adventurers (us) travel back and forth now; however, I do agree with your point regarding not seeing any signs of desiring to leave. A half elf is also a good idea.

On another note, nothing stops you from portraying a half-elf and half-human. Seen many on this server.

I would say just use the short ears and call the character whatever you want. You might also be able to use a dracthyr visage as well if you want something that’s slightly less elf-looking.

Maybe give it the really short ears, a hint of elven ancestry, but human?

There will be some people who will not roleplay with you. As long as that doesn’t concern you, you should do whatever you want.

Humans come in all shapes and sizes. If you want to use the void elf character model to play a human then go for it. There is not a thing wrong with that.

What if you RP’d a human in “elf-face”? Yknow…fake ears and fake eyebrows and some kind of extremely reflective glowey contact lense?

I go by what the TRP says, not by restrictions of in-game models. I get what you’re saying, the human males are too bulky for some of the characters I want to play. By all means, do it. I guess some people are saying others might judge you? But, let’s be real… those sort of people aren’t the kind you want to RP with anyway. Do what you want! You’ll find your people.
