If your argument is that the best way to get rewards out of PVP is to just not PVP, that isn’t quite the argument you think it is.
just seems like a “give and inch take a mile” scenario
every reward has been lowered and made more available multiple times at this point and never once in the past were those benchmarks seen as hurting participation
i think the average player has become accustom to the rewards continuously moving down instead of requiring them move up at all
“make the elite set more accessible and more people will play” < it was made more accessible and less people care about the elite set or are playing
“make the enchant more accessible and more people will play” < it was made more accessible and less people care about the enchant or are playing
“make gladiator more accessible and more people will play” < it was made more accessible and less people care about gladiator or are playing
the people that think continuously lowering the bar will increase participation are just too stupid to recognize it’s a short term grab that yields almost 0 long term engagement and we’re going to have to CONSTANTLY readjust to retain the interest they think is being generated
PVP does not shower pvper with ilevel by the request of pvpers themselves.
yet you harass me in every thread I post ? ok… this guy
you can dish but you cant take it . good to know .
The courser mount lol. 2400 rewards end up in the same exact discussion above, 6300 people have the highest regarded achievement in the game and only 488 people have the 3rd best pvp reward. Rank 1 is the pinnacle in comparison to cutting edge not elite, you could argue elite would be comparible to AOTC. I get that x amount more people participate in pve obviously a % amount with participation/achievement would yield a better argument but would take a lot of effort to produce if possible.
There’s no just no shot.
Just noooo shot.
Ok so what are you trying to say here?
That there’s not enough reward for the bottom?
What do you suggest? Another reward for 1200?1300?1700?
You even laughed at the courser mount, it just prove that you didn’t value it because its widely available/easily obtained. Meaning more rewards for bottom tier rating would be seen exactly like another courser.
Somebody is unaware of Hall of Fame.
CE isn’t anywhere remotely in the ballpark as R1.
M+ and raiders don’t wait until the end of the season to play the game in masses, they don’t abandon the game entirely after receiving their aotc or keystone hero mount or to hold rating. Elite is the new pinnacle of pvp in its current state this season, why should that ever be the case when glad and rank 1 exist?
hot take…
inflation should be slow and should have a cap, but it should start higher, and blizz needs to have an end season goal in mind. aka.
week on MMR cap, 2700 with the final being 3300. that would be 6 months of inflation at 25 mmr a week.
or… just make it 3000 from the start rather than inflating your cr it deflates with inactivity. Lose like 50 mmr and 30 CR every week you dont complete 10 matches in a bracket.
the elite set or the weapon illusion would be aotc
lot of raiders don’t clear the raid until the end of the tier
when i started raiding in cataclysm my guild took almost the entire 9 months to clear heroic madness
that’s not unusual for the vast majority of raiding guilds nor is it unusual for the vast majority of gladiators
people that only do keys to get the mount stop doing keys when they get the mount
(i’m one of them i have every keystone mount i earned all of them in 2 lockouts in full pvp gear)
(i also have every 2400 gladiator those required probably 500x the effort ksh did obviously)
PvP has never had PvE parallels and they still to this day shouldn’t
but if you were looking for parallels and really trying to force it
gladiator is much closer to m+ r1
and PvP r1 is much closer to world top 10 progression mythic kills
Most guilds don’t clear the raid until end of the season is true I know I raided s4 bfa->SL S3 we raided all season we didn’t specifically wait until the last couple of weeks to mythic raid lot a bit different. Right now at this moment elite is the pinnacle of pvp, I mean some of the best of the best players are sitting at 2350-2450 elite right now if that’s a reality you support than so be it
2400 is incredibly harder than M+ hero.
I’d even go as far as to say its much less accessible and still more difficult than mythic raiding.
But yes, this season is dead, mostly due to start of season massive imbalance and the mmr cap, and disgusting que times.
Not to mention 3v3 LFG is 10 years obsolete and needs a overhaul.
so the thing you have an issue with here is artificial inflation
blizzard invented artificial inflation in SLS2 and it’s the primary reason it’s easier to push later in the season, because blizzard gives your mmr for free
mmr you didn’t earn or deserve
it’s no different than the way they nerf mythic raid bosses by >30% late into the tier
(they did that in my example with dragonsoul multiple times)
conceptually you should HAVE to queue the majority of the season making progress to get gladiator
‘log in last 2 weeks and slam it out’ should never have been a playstyle handed down from long time veterans to casuals the way it has been
it’s week 8 of 30-35
if players on the lowest possible level got glad on week 8 i don’t even know what the point of seasons being longer than 10 weeks would be
30-35? u crazy? def no way s2 is that long lol. im betting 16 weeks
PvP achievements have always been more difficult than their PvE counterparts imo. Not saying the current situation is fine, but trying to do a 1:1 comparison won’t work. Not sure how our current system worked for so long but it’s showing it’s age now and needs a proper revamp.
Also… TBF, glad should be hard to attain early, but still obtainable from the first week or 2 of the season.
The point of the season duration is for it to be more accessible to lower rated players later, and also for R1 glad push at the end on a more level playing field (mmr has leveled out more, less glad’s at 1800 etc).
As long as there’s no Ret rework catastrophe.
Time gating glad the first 4 weeks is ridiculous, and even at 8 weeks there should be more. Unless they revert the glad back to wotlk style top .05% end of season. This new system sucks anyways.
The same reason some people run m+ all season in hopes to achieve rank 1.
?
we’re at 10.1.5 / week 9 day 4 of the season
https://i.redd.it/lkjbzm58mrbb1.jpg
this roadmap shows that we have 10.1.7 (coming in probably 8-10 weeks) which would put the season at 16-18 weeks and we know for sure that isn’t the start of season 2
then 10.1.7 has probably 8-10 weeks of life prior to 10.2 which is the start of season 3
at minimum 25 weeks at maximum 35 weeks
i don’t agree with the mmr cap yea
I’d be willing to bet that with them rolling 10.1.7 to the ptr the same week as 10.1.5 that it will be mid august, and S3 10.2, ~6 weeks after that, so maybe 18-20 weeks? 30 or 35 weeks would be winter time no?
It’ll have to be before October because thats when S2* Diablo 4 is dropping, Oct 9.
We should get used to them alternating wow and diablo 4 big patches now, is my guess.
