User Interface and Quest Updates in The War Within™

You must have never played Legion…ohhh how I remember that map clutter with the insane amount of world quests.

Played legion but there are already filters for the world quests based on reward type. It is really the story quests on Alts that cause a lot of world map clutter. It I wanted to do the campaigns and world quests for the 10th time, I already know where to go.

Though really asked to determine if I need to find an addon or not.

Thank you! I can finally get rid of some of my addons!

then your post is 100% inaccurate. the collapsed version takes up a lot of the screen but absolutely does not take up the entire screen

Well, excuse me, monsieur. :face_with_monocle:
It takes up the whole center, which is the entire important screen.

Realistically you shouldnʻt be opening up your spellbook in any situation were you need to see that part of your screen anyway.

Although it can happen.

I jumped on my shammy alt in Remix to do my dailies, force of habit i just queued up and got an insta queue as healer in a dungeon run.
Popped in and half of my abilities are missing! not to mention talent points i forget to set before queueing.
Had to open spell book in the middle of the dungeon and drag abilities to the bars.

Fortunately it was Remix and noone needed me for anything.

I don’t know exactly how the map icons are going to work, so maybe this is way off base.

But, the icons should have a toggle option per icon type. Also, putting an icon over a hub, which should already be represented on the map, is like putting a hat on a hat. You should let the map breathe when it needs to and the map, functionally being an immersive bit of art, needs room and shouldn’t be cluttered.

If this is already the case, if these things can be toggled off and on, which hopefully they can, then completely ignore this.

My other criticism is how the spellbooks look. They’re flat. Books aren’t flat. The middle, or binding, should be curved or waved or what ever. Also, everyone has the same spellbook thematically and visually and this is a mistake. For example, a Rogues book should give an air of secrecy, or have poison schmutz on it. A Warlock might scrawl demonic runes or have diagram pictures of demons in their book.

The spellbooks are a great way to reinforce class identity, and giving everyone the same book, while not terrible, can still be drastically improved upon.

See, this would have been much more difficult with the new spellbook!

You shouldn’t eat at McDonald’s either. But some things are just tasty:

  • Dragging new spells to the bar while leveling/running/riding
  • Quickly clicking on abilities for which you have no room for in your bars.
  • Not feeling like you have a giant hand in front of your eyes.

Rather than spiders and crabs - just a foggy shimmer would have been just fine.
