I’m lacking on cloth transmogs and wanted to start doing runs of older raids to start collecting them. I’ll be using this character (56 priest). I have the angelic feathers spell and bought a lot of swiftness potions but wanted to ask if there are more items or consumables I can bring to help me move around quicker through these raids. Thanks
Some enchants, heart of azeroth, specific classes have it better, etc. Depends on why you go through old stuff. Is it pet or mounts? Go druid. Is it strictly for priest/cloth transmog?
For now it is for cloth transmogs. I’ve done a lot of runs on my druid and paladin but hardly any on my cloth characters. Which enchants help?
Enchant Boots - Minor Speed.
You’d have more options if you got to level 60 because then you’d have access to soulbinds, some of which can increase your movement speed.
I think for clearing old raids, the second necrolord soulbind would be pretty good, at least for getting through areas with trash. The first night fae soulbind gives you two sources of extra speed but I believe only the one that gives you a short speed boost when you crit would actually work in old content, not the one that makes you go faster outside of combat after killing something. Also the second venthyr soulbind can give you +60 speed when you’re well-fed.
Doesnt soulshape beat everything?
Consider it like working out. You’re gonna burn more calories throughout your day outside of workout. So you want to raise your basal metabolic rate, aka flat passive speed overall. Unless of course there is something to cause cdr on covenant signature ability, in which picking soulshape is better.
It’s on a 1.5 minute cooldown and even though the first night fae soulbind allows you to reduce the cooldown by 1 second every time you kill something, I don’t believe the cooldown reduction would work in old content. Conduits that reward you for killing things usually only work when whatever you’re killing is close to your level–like, close enough that you’d get xp if not for the level cap.
On the other hand, in old raids all your cooldowns are reset when you kill a boss iirc so maybe that includes soulshape
Bear tartare is good for a speed boost every time you kill something.
Looks like I need a leveled up heart of Azeroth. I just got it on this character. Any idea how to level it up fast? I’ve been doing world quests in Zuldazar for an hour and its only level 3…
I think if it doesn’t specify gain xp or honor, it works at any level, but i’d have to test it to know for sure.
World Quest is really the only way. I guess you could do raid, but you’d need a party to be efficient.
If you do the questline that includes the intro to Nazjatar you get to skip to a much higher level when you unlock the Heart Forge
I collect +speed gear whenever possible and keep a set handy for such things. people sell this stuff on the AH all the time, or you can pick it up along the way. Also, there are gems this xpac that the more you have, the higher your speed. It’s a small boost per gem, but it helps.
Personally, I think a mage or warlock is more suited to such things because they have better personal movement abilities.
I don’t think you need it. I’ve been able to match or beat the speed boosts given by the HoA gear.
Also, I was able to find this somewhere and it helps to know what your current speed is (and you can test what is giving you speed by swapping things and running it again):
> /script base = BASE_MOVEMENT_SPEED
> /script cur, run, fly, swim = GetUnitSpeed("player")
> /script ChatFrame1:AddMessage(string.format("Your current maximal speeds are: running %g%%, flying %g%%, swimming %g%%.", run/base*100, fly/base*100, swim/base*100))
If there are any useful speed boosting items then it’s best not to mention it here because it will tip off the developer team and result in a future nerf.
I miss Bear Tartare.
If you’re using a max level character, the new 226 vendor gear can proc speed + sockets which helps a lot
beef tatare gives about +30 speed,
SL version gives about +150 speed.
3% gem
5%gem
gear with +speed
and that weird enchant that gives 13% extra speed for every SL gem you have.
and if you’re a DH, stack mastery
like the druid above said, lvl 60 is better for that covenant talent tree thing also gives speed boost.
off topic: did you guys see the new +30 stam food? like wow its +1 more than the previous expac version.
It gave so much more before they squished everything in BFA
Id recommend getting to 60 and buying the boa anima 226 gear. So you can oneshot most things. And maybe stack speed gear.
Haste and verse is nice to stack to spam holy nova or the shadow one.
Use the shield talent movement speed it has more uptime. Especially if you are doing it as disc.
Go kyrian for the covenant ability. Adds some nice aoe with the covenant legendary.
Azerite armor with speed increase may still work if you got the right pieces. You can solo island expeditions now too although you’d probably want to go shadow for that.
