US Only Promotions as a Canadian: Why?

No its your countries Laws and rules…not US laws and rules…Blizzard has to abide by laws and rules of each country their game is allowed in…

It’s a Discord promo. Logically, if the Canadian goverment had an issue with Discord quests, they wouldn’t be allowed at all, for any game.

Use a VPN. It works.

I’m in the US, but can’t complete the quest because I play on a mac. :frowning:

Yeah it’s really annoying being a Canadian player sometimes.

None of the rewards have been must-haves for me but it’s still a pain.

Boring complicated business and bureaucratic reasons.

could be worse… you could have all these fancy pixels but also be american…

It’s pretty simple, different countries have different rules so there is more inherent overhead associated with making sure all of the different rules are followed to the letter. It’s quite obvious.

We’ve got all of Texas grouped up as one big thing we’ll make it happen

There’s no actual proof this is the case. It’s pure speculation. China has their specific WoW promotions, does this automatically mean laws prevent Americans from having promotions? Come on, lets think clearly here for a minute.

Microsoft operates its rewards programs in European states. Discord quests still exist in Europe. There’s a myriad of ways they can offer the same rewards through different means without any hurdles.

It most likely has to do with mtn dew signing a domestic only contract.

Yes there is. There is more overhead which equals more cost. We don’t need the invoice to know that, it’s simple logic.

Why do Americans just assume every other country has oppressive weird laws but theirs lol?

I’m sure you’re a corporate lawyer who can tell us the exact steps of why this is the case, why other rewards can exist, but these ones from blizzard are necessarily under undue burden of high administrative costs that they can’t implement it.

awwwwww the top hat is getting uppity again.

Don’t need to be. Any dunce can tell that it’s far easier to run a promotion domestically than internationally.

Also the law argument is nonsense since again you can use a VPN.

and the codes for the cycle and previous trolli program worked in European version accounts, whereas typically they get region locked.
It’s just not a sensible argument tbh.

I highly doubt it, expect the middle finger and sincere "mange de l’ousti marde " from Quebec

It’s not a Discord issue. It’s not a US issue. There is only one group to blame at the moment…

Of course, Canada Post! I should have known…

I mean, we’re happy to sucker ANYONE into a promotion, but apparently the CA digitial laws and promotions prevent us from taking advantage of our northern neighbors.
