I see them in AV run to the towers at the end and just sit there for the rest of the game, so from now on if they dont answer me i report them afk. They dont even bother to kill the tower guards, its very annoying.

We’re not seeing the whole story here. Suspensions are not automated. A human has to review the logs. A lack of activity (including movement) is clear in the logs and unless you were legitimately AFK (no moving, not casting, not summoning, nothing) you wouldn’t be suspended.
If it has been reviewed, it was reviewed by someone other than the original human, so TWO people have looked at the logs now and decided that you were indeed AFK.
A “I know Paul, he’s a good dude” post from someone with one post on the forums isn’t exactly evidence to the contrary.

Everyone getting banned is saying the same thing. They are Cycloning tanks in AV.
That means for the entire game you’re sitting in the throne room until the absolute last second when a tank pulls then casting 1 spell. You’re afk.
I recall people getting banned for this in the past. It used to be a meta to just cyclone tanks until people get banned for it back then.
TLDR: Don’t AFK in BGS expect to cast 1 spell to cheese a boss and get shocked you get banned for being AFK.
I do think they should give some sort of warning prior to the ban, maybe they do. I am very skeptical of these forum posters. I do not believe they’re being banned unjustly.

If an actual person is reviewing these and OKing THIRTY DAY bans for people playing the game as intended, that’s even worse

Paul has donated a kidney to me, he was also playing the game and not afk as we were in discord. Also, Paul donates most of his time to local hospitals to help the old folks with walking canes, I won’t say an occasional you know what doesn’t happen, ya know? Blizzard you are WRONG for banning the next mother Teresa, we call Paul but he goes by Paulie, Dolly and Kissems. I hope you can sleep well at night Blizzard for unjustly banning a future world leader.

This worries me!!! I have been playing and plan to play BGs with all my Toons to Level and gear, but now I’m not sure…
I have seen games where people ask everyone to report anyone not lvl 70 for griefing in AV.
I have seen people report others that die defending Towers like TP, then end up on defence or join a BG late and start in the cave and get forced to defend.
I also rush to RH and I’m NEVER AFK, but there are so many Toxic people that report at random cause you do not do what they say or because you are lower level (I don’t like this, but Blizz created the game this way).
With So much XP and Honor per horor and Glad gear at the end of the tunnel, this seemed to be the best way to gear, level and prep for WoTLK, which is what pre-patch is for!
People Sell boosts all day, sell gear, do GDKPs where people are AFK and using bought gold and never get a BAN… But just being reported at random from Toxic people could get you a 30 day BAN in a BG!!! WTF…
I Hope all the people have have been posting were really AFK, cause I do not want to stop my plans on for AV weekend coming up!

Gonna switch to Nintendo if they don’t reverse it… Blizzard is dumb so much money in their loss…
I also got banned for 8 days because i was defending towers in AV, these are literally automated bans because people report you for fun and if you get enough reports they automatically ban you and you can’t appeal it because they respond with a copy and paste bullsht. at this point spamming AV is just almost a certain ban

I was just gaming with my bro in mid farming solo kills waiting for towers to cap. I would end almost every game top kb and near top dam. Regardless of whatever they want to do I don’t feel a 30 day ban is justified.
