"Upgrading" Loot murders this game

Depends on the specific context.

I’d prefer to finish all the story content while remaining within the appropriate level bracket. Not so much looking for “difficult” content, but I don’t want it to be stupidly easy either; things just start to feel stupid when the next level up causes you to start one-shotting EVERYTHING.

Which, unless you take measures to turn off your XP gains at certain levels, is EXACTLY what happens when you out-level content too much. After some testing, I found out that kicked in at around +5 levels for a lot of the earlier content.

So yeah, you’re still fighting the game’s systems when you want to enjoy the game’s story content (even if it’s of middling quality for the most part); especially for older expansions.

It`s as easy as it gets -

Get loot

get crest

upgrade loot

its literally that simple. the game even tells you where to get the crest you need.

I dont even count valorstone because if ur playing the game, you get them, ive never ran out or needed to farm more because its just that abundant.

That’s something that can be adjusted then, though they should probably readjust the whole delve system in general, 8s are too easy for the gear they give

Too complicated. lol

The issue is crests stop at ilevel 609 unless you do heroic raids or higher level m+. Crests are capped. All I would ask is allow us to upgrade the way we want. Getting into raids and M+ unless you play the “META” you dont get invited.

619 actually, you get runed crests from delves

A issue solution would be allow us to buy runes with curency.

There’s a few workarounds for that funny enough but they arent fun. Its rated pvp or buying crafted max gear by paying someone to make it with their crest mats from a alt or something.

I’m confused by your logic here. Everything in the game is considered Borrow Power if your argument is you have to start over each expansion. Not only Gear, but Professions, Gathering Mounts, etc.

I think the difference between the Legion Artifacts, and Azerite Power, and SL Legendaries, is that you lost the ability to use those systems entirely at the end of the expansion.

I guess if you want to call Gear farming/upgrading as Borrowed Power, then I would think you would have to concede that is has been implemented in the game since the very beginning and if folks don’t like that sort of gameplay, I’m surprised they are still playing.

No, you have to do content to upgrade, higher rewards from harder solo content

You said so yourself that all you do content like LFR to check out the story

So why are you concerned with difficulty if none of the content you do is actually difficult

What im more impressed about is that you are concerning yourself with loot upgrades when you dont care about that at all

Nothing stops you from being left to your own devices, but dont expect to be rewarded or having the game being tweaked for your particular gameplay

Some ppl wish they could progress the story by just picking herbs, doesnt mean they should change the game around that.

2 per delve at 20 mins a delve , lol.

Think its like 100 total runed per item before gilded.

Or 1000 minutes ( 16 and a half hours of nonstop play) per piece of gear .

There’s a reason people stopped doing delves…

It takes you 20 minutes? Man you can speed that up a lot

And I did say delves as a whole need a loot revamp

It takes 20 minutes for someone using gear that is from delves.

My warrior just steamrolls the whole thing at 8 in a single pull.
11 took a lot longer because the mobs have 100x the hp and 20x damage. Youre forced to use environmental hazards to kill them, because those do percentage based damage to mobs.

EXTREMELY poor scaling algos lol

Same. I just stop playing when I hit the time when I can only progress via item upgrades. I got my full 603 set from the delves plus a couple of 616 pieces from the vault, did some upgrades from the currency I got so far, and I just switched to PvP.

Tbf, expanding the delve loot would likely change the way they scale the delves, what is now an 11 could end up being a 20

In a perfect world each pillar of pve would have similar acquisition, difficulty rates, and level of loot

And whats now a 12 was a 30 in df for mythics.

Bring back the old numbers.

Well every progression hits a wall unless you do more difficult content, its a basic aspect of any RPG.

And as a middle of the pack DPS that bring no utility to M+ i can tell that it is possible.

There hasnt been a single class or spec that i dont bring to my +10 keys, this xpac is hugely about player skill rather than “meta”.

On that one, barely anyone goes past loot level for m+ so that’s just all bragging rights anyway

Um no lol

Did you know modern, and even many older RPG had a scaling system? The games literally leveled up alongside the characters. Not just the levels either but the gear they were using, as well.

Don’t even get me started on souls-likes or open world games.
