Does this affect pvp, or is it only upgrading for pve?
if i upgrade my pvp gear, will it only work for pve, not pvp? ty guys
PVP gear is the ilvl it says on the PVP gear in arena, upgrading it does not change this. The upgrades are for the PVE ilvl

Upgrades have no affect on PvP. It’ll just make the gear slightly stronger for PvE content.

Only matters outside of instanced PvP. So it does have impact on world PvP, but not in battlegrounds or arena.
It has no impact on any pvp, the second you enter into combat with an enemy player you gain the pvp ilvl of your gear, it just isn’t on vs pve mobs.

They changed that based on my knowledge, so only the warmode PvP gear does scale up in world pvp situations or duels, but not the honor/conquest gear.
The gear doesn’t scale up for example, if you hit the PvP dummy. It did until that change.
It’s been scaling up since beta.
It does not automatically scale up when warmode is on, that is the only change they ever made. The second you enter pvp combat your gear scales up to pvp ilvl.
You can test it right now, even on the pvp dummy, honor gear scales up, your HP jumps up from 200k to 350k when you enter into combat with the pvp dummy.

Then they changed that again. When I tested it on beta after that announcement, nothing was scaled when hitting the dummy.

I sapped a guy in honor gear and his health jumped up almost 50%. Could’ve sworn they said that all PVP gear would scale up in wpvp, but only in PvP combat to avoid PvE players having their bis for war mode pve content be…PvP gear.
Been doing wpvp since day 1. Both my SL and DF pvp gear scales the moment I engage in combat with a player in wpvp.
