Torghast was SUPPOSED to be for casual players. You hardcore basement dwellers already have the rest of the game at your disposal, go do something else if you have a problem.
Most true casuals have barely started the 60 game, let alone beaten every level of Torghast yet. I dont care that you find it too easy now.
I have no issue with them making it more difficult if it is not tied to gear score. Force everyone to be the same GS when entering and then you can make the argument.
This whole game is based on a bunch of nolifers living in a videogame and then demanding everthing be catered to them. Well if Blizzard listens to you clowns, casual players will be paced out of the only content for them this expansion.
TLDR: bugger off.

sadly, bliz isn’t known for successful class or spec tuning.
Yet i still ge the same useless roll talents at the start of upper layer 7 and 8 on my monk.
And still get rekt at 196 ilvl , i would love it to be a l2p issue but asode from having the double keg smash leggo i have no idea how im supposed to kill some of these door guardians…
Yeah, the anti-afk mechanic takes all the fun out of fiddling with the puzzles.

…but then nerfing literally makes the classes that can do it, easier too, thus more boring.
I would be fine with a spec by spec nerf for the really bad ones, but not a blanket
Making it easier doesn’t not make it boring. It makes it fun! I enjoy oneshotting things. It’s so much more fun than waste ages to kill single mob. We are supposed to be gods in torghast and we are slowly getting here.

They did that and let me tell you it made a ton of difference for the rogue. Bottom line is this nerf just turned layer 8 into a joke. The natural nerf to it would’ve been gear which people even if casual will get from WQs. Granted it will take a bit longer due to Renown level, but isn’t that the point of gear? Harder content rewards better gear/faster. I would’ve even been fine with these blanket nerfs to layers 1-6. We’re talking about 80 soul ash WHICH you can get from a mission table quest. While were on that subject they need to nerf those. I can’t do it on my Venthyr MAIN character, but an alt three days behind as Night Fae destroyed it.

I dont see any changes to the only thing that actually matters. The assassin and dogs.
They spawn much less often and have less HP, no?
Was that listed? I read thru it twice. But that won’t help the whole, can’t run to the bathroom thing.
Wow… you crushed torghast. Did Layers 7 and 8 last night and they were a joke. Honestly… My first thought was… whelp… here’s more mindless content. (even despite what I said above)
After that first knee jerk reaction though… I started having loads of fun. I built a Misdirect build with my friends and had sooo much fun being a buff build. I’d MD our DH to just roflstomp packs of trash, and would MD our Lock to annihilate bosses. Was a blast.
I think at the end of the day, I’m fine with the weekly Torghast being stupid fun like this. I do think the twisted corridors should be closer to the buffed version of Torghast. I think it makes more sense that way as well, as there will be more floors to grow in power and finally get to this feeling of being godly.
Looking forward to it.
The masses will complain that’s hard and call for nerfs.
What if I found it to be fairly easy before nerf and a chore?
Then the correct response is: This is for cosmetics akin to the Mage Tower. Once you get more gear, the content will naturally nerf itself. Particularly 1-2 tiers later.
I see twisted corridors as the challenge mode, and I think that’s how it should be.
“For everyone” is what I was pointing to. If you find it to be a chore regardless, then that’s a personal preference. I’m saying that at least on GD, there’s a clear split on people who enjoy Torghast and those who don’t. And if we take a page from BFA, Warfronts and Island Expeditions were disliked by a majority of the playerbase because of how stupid easy and braindead it was.
I’m saying that players should think before screaming for nerfs because if we don’t, we could very well be back at square 1.
Did they fix synod? Because he still owned me in healer spec, hits far to hard, that was last night
Honestly, for a weekly “to-do” list, I’d rather it be closer to Islands/Warfronts than closer to high level M+ or Mythic raids.
I’d rather the challenging version be the non-weekly content that’s just done for fun and cosmetics. That’s more like the Mage Tower, and makes sense to be truly challenging with clear failure states.
I hated Warfronts and Islands Expos. I think I can count on both hands how many times I did both of them. For players who really didn’t want to face the challenge could have done the lower floors and as time goes on. And if there were underperforming classes I would’ve rather seen them buffing Anima Powers instead of nerfing the experience for everyone.
But even like the Mage Tower that was optional, there was a plethora of threads calling for nerfs all the way through Antorus.
I think that’s fair enough, as I definitely scoffed at them as well. Particularly the first incarnation of WFs… literally AFKing and getting free gear…
That being said… Last week I had to run 4 torghast runs per character each of which took 40 mins to an hour depending upon which powers I got… and that was seriously burning me out on the content. By the end of it I was just flat out sick of it… A lot of this might be alleviated now that layer 8 is finally open and we only have to do 2 runs a week, but the other issue I see is that since this is tied to Soul Ash… you’re also putting a heavy FOMO tax on this content. Thus you’ll have players who bash their head against the wall repeatedly due to FOMO to their detriment. And if they don’t succeed in the end, you’ll now have angry players who feel like they’ve dedicated loads of time and still feel screwed in the end.
That isn’t a great way to make this content liked. Particularly since this is the ONLY way to acquire Soul Ash in meaningful amounts (yes I know about the missions, but that’s a pittance amount relative to Torghast).
Asmongold actually did a video recently about this (as Zack, not his streamer ID) and I sorta agree with him. There’s really a difference between content that’s there with zero requirement to do except if you just want to have fun, and content that’s pretty much required to do whether you like it or not. I’d rather the version that EVERYONE is forced to do… be something that can be knocked out quickly.
And those calls should be rightfully ignored… Just like they did for the Mage Tower.

I love the nerfs, I struggled clearing 6 as a rogue… I said screw it and grouped for 7 and 8. I hated Torg and probably still will, due to being forced to do it… because we need that Soul Ash. It’s a chore no matter how trivial it becomes and hope it becomes nerfed further honestly…
Thank you for doing some listening Blizz.
