Updating Torghast this Week

Played twice after the nerf (rogue and hunter). It is way too easy to have any fun component. You dont even need to try.

Thanks! Nobody better whine if we are down for maintenance for an hour or so tomorrow! Also, with all the whining on the forums, this post should have a lot more likes!!

I thought it was just me about upper reaches-BM HUNT, cleared fractured lvl3 no problem, failed upper reaches so hard 3 times, mobs no problem, boss, killing orbs did not help, he just castes anyway, maybe im missing a mechanic

I remember getting the Slime Boss then panicking since I realized I didn’t have the Wall Crawling Speed Anima buff to kite it… then realized I had the jumping one. I guess I’m lucky I had something for that even though it wasn’t the best. :frowning:

Night Fae can crush almost every mission. Their “tank” troop applies a debuff to all enemies reducing the damage they deal by 20%. This debuff stacks, so you can go into a mission with 4 of these guys and enjoy all your foes only dealing 20% of the damage they’d normally do.

Yeah, that’s great and all. But are you going to fix the real broken thing? You know, Ve’nari’s Permanent buff items in the maw and Torgast? Cause the ones for the maw sure as heck don’t work at all, and Torgast seems to work only half the time. So when is that fix coming? Or are you going to keep the items broken with a tooltip that’s just silly?

This change is comical. Before the last boss on layer 8 had 1.8m HP and each hit was an OMG moment to 1.0m HP and hit like a wet angel hair pasta noodle. 26% change to HP? Not really… this felt like doing a layer 4.

It’s mindless now. One of the few pieces of content you had that requires someone be awake has now been gutted. GJ Blizz. -rolleyes-

Before someone says it:

“You have Twisting Corridors” - You mean something that these changes will most likely affect and is a one and done?

“You have M+” - PRESSURE FROM A TIMER =/= this kind of challenge.

“You have raiding” - Despite what people are saying Torghast never had to be a numbers check! Raids -do- have fairly hard enrage timers, and that’s just one example. Much about them IS a gear / numbers check. Then there’s the factor that the hardest thing about them is to have 20 people who work together and none of them screw up too badly, and the next hardest thing is getting those 20 people if you’re not in a guild. It is not even REMOTELY equivalent.

‘But it’s fun to be able to go in and blow things up, right?’ - WoW devs should just give up and make a field of lv 1 critters that drop soul ash, there’s your fix, GG.

Just out of curiosity, what are you having issues with not working for the Maw upgrades?

They literally don’t do what they say they do in the tool tip.

Prevent the DoT debuff that gets applied?

Just curious because a lot of people think it negates the assassins and abductors completely when it doesn’t.

where are the guys that spent week 1, 2 and 3 saying that Torghast was good, that it was OK, and that it actually needed to be harder because of how “easy” it was? lol.

Having it be harder was good imo, it kind of had a dark souls difficulty vibe which really had to make you think about what you were doing rather then just pressing buttons.

omg… the quality of life changes alone are amazing!
the choice between 1 of -3- anima powers helps alot with the crappy rng you sometimes get… awesome
skeletons that don’t insta blow up and gib you… now have a nice warning to gtfo… awesome…
mobs that arn’t massive health sponges… awesome.
just solo’d goxul the devourer on my gaurdian… very nice.

I know I thought that it was a bit over the top as far as challenge went, I figured it was a lack of gear or whatever, I’m fairly competent at my class and my difficulties weren’t from “not knowing how to play my class” like some tossers in the forums always want to claim.

My main gripes are things like fire elementals attracting half of a floor to their location and duking it out. Meaning I have to go in there with my one cc and try and sort out half a floor of the upper reaches on layer 8 to advance and pray to the gods that maybe a good anima power will drop (at least the anima power bit was addressed, but without knowing the actual numbers for drop rate who knows).

OR a floor just being a mass spam of double elite packs where the cc’ed mob still builds their rage buff until they break free of the cc and come and bend me over.

Those are the things I would like to see addressed. But maybe it won’t matter because everything has had it’s health slashed and we’re supposedly going to see a better selection of anima powers.

PS, Sin Bolt was WAAAY overtuned, I could easily go through AS, DT, Rebuke, and HoJ and still not have enough interrupts additionally If I as a prot paladin am having my health chunked with my defensives up, I would hate to see what it was like for classes Also for the love of god remove that “pacified” magic debuff from consulars. Nothing is more aggravating than having to sit there and pray the debuff goes away in time to generate enough holy power for a WoG.

Were all your anima cells providing three choices? Some of mine provided only two, but I’m not certain if the change were for certain cells. E.g. if the cell was purchased, earned from a quest, killed from a rare, or found from a puzzle, etc.

I had the misfortune of trying to solo Goxul just before the nerfs went in and omfg, that boss was so damn infuriating! I was down to my last death when I finally got him down & until I heard about the nerfs coming down the pike, I was pretty much DONE with Torghast for the foreseeable future. Excellent changes Blizz! You’ve actually convinced me to keep going back to the tower :slight_smile:

All these people crying about the nerf lol I’m just happy I can finally take a healer in and solo this place. Dont even need a group anymore. Fantastic I can listen to music and actually have some fun without some irritant dictating every little move i make.

This is great news.

Challenging content is almost impossible to correctly do in algorithim-created stuff. It’s better that this is easier and accessible for many people than anything else.
