Updating Torghast this Week

It is not, I still get the same two crap powers I’ve gotten at the beginning of every layer since reset on Tuesday.

wow… blizzard not only admitted their mistake, not only realized they were in the wrong… but ALSO listened to feedback and made changes accordingly?

what in the…?? I’m speechless, lol

There are fifteen layers, you numbskull.

If the first five layers are maddeningly hard for a casual player, why would they even try to push any harder?

Blizzard’s goal should be to try to coax players up the tower by seducing them with wins they think they’ve earned, not to stomp their faces in before they’ve ever reached the halfway point.

What Blizzard is getting is such a high failure rate that more than half the players who can even enter give up and resign themselves to smaller Soul Ash rewards because of overtuned trash, traps, and bosses. Torghast should be fun with players attempting to go up layer by layer like a staircase, not continuously hitting walls and giving up.

Combine this with the slower gear upgrades this expansion is preparing us for (you have noticed that, right?), and Torghast is a recipe for disaster because you’re not going to outgear it in time. Casual players should be able to progress because Blizzard lets them eke out a win, not because they got lucky or because they’re going to outgear it.

Blizzard making overtuned content that only challenges the best players is not a win for them. The first week of Nathria spelled that out crystal clear. Blizzard’s success comes when every player can come in and feel like they’ve earned a victory and if they got just a little bit better, they could succeed at the content that they’re stuck at, which means Blizzard needs to let players win to keep them coming back until they are content. Some stop just before Mythic, some stop at Heroic, but they’ve stopped because they’re satisfied, not because they gave up.

So if you want to be an elitist that wants harder content in Torghast, MOVE UP ANOTHER LAYER.*

Thankyou for taking this seriously. I was really hoping that Torghast could be what it originally was intended. Fast fun ARPG content where you acquire incredible Anima power and enjoy SOLO.

These runs should be fast 10-15 mins with hardly any gear Requirement. Also please please please understand that Health Pools and annoying mechanics don’t equal difficulty.

Layer 1 and Layer 8 should take the same amount of time. You can increase difficulty without making the run significantly longer.

Again thanks for listening and this is a step in the right direction. Many people were just in disbelief how bad Torghast was. It’s not fixed yet but at least you are trying to make it bearable for people to do for their mandatory resources. I’ll take that.

you couldn’t just do the lower layers. you had to ruin it for everyone.

I think this is a good move.

So, you’re telling me you struggle at layers 1-5 with 186 ilvl as a hunter? I really am out of touch with the community if you represent the average player. Wow. I can’t even imagine.

By that logic why are mythic raids out right now when almost nobody can do them?

Why put mage tower when when Nighthold was the raid?

I just figure there would be 8 difficulties for a reason, not just to all be nerfed by week 3.

So when Layer 3 was the hardest difficulty available, they should have buffed it a bunch it so that only 25% of the player base with the correct specs were able to complete it? Because it was the hardest version available, so not everyone should be able to complete it. Sure, harder modes will come out later for people to measure their e-peen with, but this is the hardest now! It needs to be exclusive!

Do people really want to constantly prove that they are ‘tru3 h4rdcor3 g4m3rz’?

I don’t understand why the “elites” who play this game always have to piss all over anything that “casual’s” enjoy? torghast was not made for you, lol

it was made for the casuals… catering to them by making these changes is very good for the life of shadowlands subs… go be your elite self, smash torghast in your 200+ ilvl gear get your ash, and tell us all how easy it was… then move on.

Torghast had already ruined WoW for everyone now hopefully it’s bearable. (going to test it now) We aren’t there yet and hope they actually do spend time on making it right for a variety of players. However making it miserable and requiring a huge time sink time-gating a mandatory resource wasn’t the answer.

Getting in and out of Torghast fast as possible so I can eventually play the game and have fun is where we are at right now. Good step was taken to speed up being in there. We still need to get Layer 8 runs down to 10-15 mins. You don’t need time or annoying mechanics being the factor of what is considered difficult.

because like all things you always want to give people something to strive for…
the problem was never the difficulty of the top layers… it was they never made a step system like they have now… it was just… there’s a brick wall… here’s a pencil… get to smashing…

Torghast is fine, it’s the players that are bad.

They should have had a plan for it, stuck to it and just told the simple truth about Torghast from the beginning.

the game should have stayed in beta for a few months to iron all this garbage out
