Updating Torghast this Week

Thank god! 25% reduced haste and movement speed was pure hell!

dude what universe do u live in and can i come visit?

is this live >? anyone knows ?

I’m all for having difficult content available. If you are looking for challenging content, there is plenty of it out there for you to do (mythic raiding, pushing high m+ keys, ranked PvP, etc.). However, everyone needs to do Torghast for soul ash. The higher levels of Torghast that reward cosmetics should absolutely be difficult, kind of like the mage tower. But the base levels that only reward currency and followers should stay doable in a reasonable amount of time for the majority of players.

Blizzard can cater to both casuals and hardcore. Difficult content is out there for people who are looking for a challenge and appropriate rewards.

Not sure I understand why a nerf was needed. I can agree sometimes the run went a little too long but making the runs easy to save time isn’t the right way to do this. If anything just make some floors optional… its a twisting tower afterall so perhaps a boss could appear on floor 5 if the player so chooses, or floor 6 if the player wants to get more powers first.

Layer 8 is supposed to be the hardest difficulty of the game mode… which means not everyone needs to be able to complete it, at least not without some real effort. Just because the hardest difficulty on God of War or Dark Souls is too much for some players doesn’t mean you should tone it down. Also, Torghast is to obtain a legendary so making the most lucrative floors actually challenging is a logical decision. The worst part is, most people are around 180-190 ilvl right now and complaining. Once people are sitting at 210-226 gear then the challenge would have reduced on its own. Now once people are at that gear level Torghast will be a joke.

All interesting and stuff but this… isnt this devaluate ve’nari upgrades? I would have to check it but I strongly believe one of the upgrades is absolute this and now it’s kinda given for free?

I hope specs that struggle with torghast on solo because of design issues can get some help with these changes.

You’re kind of missing the point. I’m not necessarily for a nerf outside of of a shorter time requirement to complete, and to tone down the respawn of the Torment adds. But, I do want something more for my time than a pittance of soul ash. I think a cosmetics system would take some of the sting out of the grind; give us something to work for as opposed to just throwing ourselves against the wall for the sake of saying we threw ourselves against the wall.

Great changes! So happy to hear this, it was very disappointing to discover that I could not solo a 6 anymore after the changes that were made on Tuesday.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t there eventually going to be cosmetic rewards for pushing higher floors at some point?

my issue here is if layer 8 is supposed to be the max difficulty why is it released now…
if it was the ‘max’ it would be for ilvl 236+ or something along those lines and have no place being released in week 3.

so obviously as it was released right away… and noone is locked out… it must be there for everyone
see what i did there…

and me well i can understand the complaints from players who spend hours in the place, but I can’t understand the complaints from the people that are enjoying all the ‘hard’ dungeons and raids, who think all the content should be hard for them… as they don’t have much else to do but grind it all out. And when Torg is no more than a couple hours a week for those people…

i highly doubt many are re-running layers they have already cleared for the ‘challenge’

Whining casuals win again. Can’t beat it? Complain until Blizzard sees a 99% success rate. Really hope they make Twisting Corridors somewhat challenging because you just nerfed Torghast into the ground.

YO THANK YOU. I purposely don’t run Torg with more than 1 other person because of how much longer torg is with mob buffs for a full group. Also stoked for the cool down reset on level change.

By that logic, why bother having Normal, Heroic, and Mythic 0 level dungeons if they’re all a joke, and you have Mythic+ as the scaling, difficult, dungeon content?

how long did it take you per week?

how much time do you spend doing ‘challenging’ dungeons or raids in a week?

I’d like to believe you, but I don’t.

I think I’ll give layer 5 another go, get roflstomped on the first floor, get spammed with awful meaningless anima powers, then give up before I even hit the fifth floor because I’ve died to your anti-AFK boss while trying to solve a puzzle, then died to a trapped floor while trying to get back to the puzzle, then died to the anti-AFK boss while I try to carefully navigate my way through the trapped floor.

What do you mean Layer 8 is supposed to be the hardest difficulty? I’m pretty sure Twisting Corridors is supposed to be the hardest difficulty (basically Mythic Torghast), and can scale infinitely like Mythic+. Layer 8 is supposed to be more comparable to heroic dungeons, IMO.

Fantastic friggen changes. Fantastic.

layer 8 is the end of the soul ash grind, it should be the most difficult for mandatory play.

Why are u crying? I was able from the beginning to clear the layer 6 with ilvl155. Now everyone can do it too wooo

Twisting corridors isn’t even in game yet. Layer 8 is the hardest version atm. Why does everyone need to be able to do the hardest version? Do people really want their hand held in video games?
