Haven’t touched bfa since classic, just logged in for a few. Collected useless loot, ran rmpala 3-0 at 2k mmr which now feels like 1600mmr, and then logged off. So my question is.
Did classic kill BFA. I am sure BFA must be less populated, but have you guys noticed any significant changes in the ladder, lfg? Just curious, not trying to bash bfa or anything. Kinda feel like I just wanna see how my “ex gf” is doing.
Kill, no but for sure the ladder feels more empty. I know once the hype dies, the ladder will be healthier again. For now, it is what it is.
Once the hype dies down those people will quit the game altogether again. It’s not like the ladder was healthy pre-classic. S1 was OK, dead after that once people realized what a waste of time pvp was

BfA killed BfA. Classic only resurrected the dead.
From my experience this season (and its limited in arena) It seem there has been a drastic decline of participation. My assumption would be because of horrid class balance with lack of tuning. Rewards not being worth the time.
Meta’s that are even more overpowered than normal and classic to some degree.
Biggest reason is likely lack of dev attention to pvp. Or at least what the community feels from what i have seen.
I’m still simply blown away at the lack of balancing. Like we get it, there are huge flaws in some classes, but not even tweaks? 2% here, 5% there?
We don’t want to address CB spam? Dominance of sin? The lack of difference in general? Hell, I don’t even think Destro or Sin are that bad. It’s just that there are so few specs that can actually do anything so the ones that can, excel. Bring up some other classes and get rid of this stale meta that’s had no changes since S2 Azerite changes.
The only noticeable change was the slight healing change that just swapped Rdruid for Hpal without actually improving the other healing specs to bring some variance.
For those of us who don’t care about pushing R1 it’s a bit boring to keep running into the exact same 4 variations of comps over, and over, and over again. Where’s enhance? Affliction? Marks? Arcane? Frost? Sure some of these specs can work when played by R1 players in comps with other R1 players, but for the most part you’re left floundering in a sea of staleness that has no end in sight. All essences did was push the classes already doing well even further ahead.
I’m not saying anything against classic but, it’s not for everyone.
