I’m… sorry.
You guys are banning the gifting of codes to friends?
Really? I can understand banning the sale, but the transfer? What the actual heck?

What if I wanted to gift subs to count towards someone else’s progress, is that possible outside of like venmo’ing them the funds?
Glad at least one streamer I know is on the list! Gunna give more support to my LGBTQ+ Streamer friends <3
As another small streamer on this list that streams all of our raids and tries to release some guides and videos just to help out the community. The backlash from blizzard trying to promote a little bit of streamer support really sucks to see in a community I pride myself on promoting how inclusive and supportive we can be. I guess if you don’t support it just don’t do it. But it really does make me sad to see this backlash from the community.

Tomorrow is Feldrake day.
Requiring TWO subs? So it’s not just a drop, you’re making us give Amazon money? hahaha no thanks paying for Prime is enough.
Yikes!
That’s not something they can enforce it’s tough talk, nothing more.

FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK: THIS PET IS $10
Jeff Bezos needs at least two more Super Yachts, just be grateful! This is charity, alright?
Tangent, but There is a WoW focused Humble Bundle going on for Charity right now, you can get digital copies of a lot of the books and comics right now.
I assume the code is tied to your battle.net account since you have to link you twitch account.
So it could be enforced, theoretically.
Which is why it’s so flabbergasting they’d essentially say “If you want to gift this to your friend, you have to directly give them the $10 instead of giving them a code for something you were already planning to do but don’t want.”
Honestly, my only issue with this other than that, is finding one of the approved accounts actively streaming WoW on any day other than launch day is going to be a hassle. Lol.
How about you grow up…Now go away go tryhard somewhere else
Your post made me laugh thanks …Shows your maturity level if you have to generalize all wow streamers as tweens that are playing a game older than they are lol…
I am finding it difficult to read half these comments so cringe worthy all over a pet that nobody is forcing you to get…Get it or don’t get it but stop pretending it is to “boycott” twitch (Amazon’s) profit margin…
I don’t mind doing the watch thing, I draw the line at paying Twitch after already having an active WoW account for a bloody pet.
We should be able to donate to like St Jude Children’s Hospital and help out kids who are sick and dying of cancer…to earn this pet.
But…no.
We have to donate to a Goddammed “content creator.”
Shallow Blizzard. Super shallow.
No way I’d pay any money for a pet. Should have made the donation thing for the fel-drake mount. I’d love to see that fallout.
No. The pet is obtained by “Gifting 2 Subs” to a channel. Not subbing yourself. Your prime sub only works for yourself to sub to a channel.
The last 3 times Blizzard did a charity pet, people blasted them, telling them to just put it in the shop because they don’t want to support insert organization Blizzard opted to support.
It’s a lose/lose for Blizzard.
This way, Blizzard is allowing us to support other players.
No one is stopping you from using your $10 to make a direct donation to St. Jude’s.
You call Blizzard shallow but you only want to donate to St. Jude’s if you get a reward?
I think one of the last ones (maybe THE last one?) was Girls Who Code and woo boy all the “sjw” “woke” etc.
The last one was Doctors Without Borders - which was met on the forums with “How dare you support DwB, they treat all patients equally without prejudice, even enemies!”
Before that was Make-A-Wish and We. (Which is about diversity and empowering youth, iirc?)
Then before was Girls Who Code. All had “controversy.” It’s stupid.
Most of their charities have been Make-A-Wish though.
The only Charity I haven’t agreed with they’ve done is the Red Cross. There’s so many investigations that their legal department should easily have seen about Red Cross’s misappropriation of funds. (A very easy to find example is they spent ~25% of the Haiti Relief Donations after the 2010 earthquake on themselves). Then there’s the Red Crosses history with other things that I don’t want to stir up on here that I have issue with. I’m glad they stopped choosing Red Cross as their charity.
(But I also didn’t cause a stink on the forums about it. I simply didn’t donate.)
They haven’t announced the Charity this year yet, though they may skip a year like they did with 2020.
Excited to be a part of this list/ program! Even if I don’t get subs from this (which I’d be surprised if i do), I’m still relatively new to streaming and this is the first program for streamers I’ll be a part of! Setting an alarm so i can hop on classic and start stream when it begins tomorrow! (Nutsforbutstv if you feel inclined. Happy battling!)
No.
As a fellow cancer patient I make monthly donations, as it is.
But go ahead and assume. We all know what they say about assuming.
Streamers don’t need money.
Actual people “in need” (no matter their predicament) do.
So, yes. Blizz is being shallow by asking the community to donate to those who playing a video game, rather than any thousands of charities where it’d actually make a difference…rather than buying some rando a new keyboard.
Streamers are not a single entity. They are humans. Some don’t need money, some do. The big money streamers are not a part of this promotion.
