If youtube is his bread and butter it would be in is best interest to branch out into other games besides WoW. I doubt he will really quit WoW until he finds out if his follwers will stay supporting him in other games or if those games will be as tolerant as Blizzard.
This is an alien concept to a lot of people, not only on WOW but in RL. Too many people feel that if they don’t see eye to eye with someone that they’re the enemy. What happened to civil discourse? Individuals vary so impossibly that it’s mind boggling how some people think of others when they don’t agree on everything/something.
People should learn how to take what’s good from a person or a situation instead of chimping out the second there’s friction.
LOL so why speak on it if you’re not willing to open it? Civil discourse is out there still and very much alive. I enjoy those types of conversations that can be held and the people involved are able to avoid being “triggered”. Those types of discussions are usually beneficial ones.
I find it funny that most of you people think that the 4 or 5 different highlights and reaction channels think that they belong to asmongold. Those are all made by fans that watch his streams and post the highlights. He has nothing to do with them. Sometimes he watches them on stream.
I don’t understand why most of you have a hate hard on for the guy and lump his community all under one group.
Asmongold is intelligent and uses this persona on stream because it is what the outside world views as the typical WoW player. It is funny. As for him quitting WoW he isn’t. He is diversifying his stream and the fact BFA is kind of piss poor was more encouragement to start streaming other games but he has wanted to do it for a while. He still logs in and plays WoW every day but it is more like a lot of us do that log in every day, do daily chores, and log out.
I suspect you know the answer before asking, but it would be better to get this news from the horse directly, given how much this post is flagged already I doubt that the GD lives to know if he is still playing or not.
I don’t like nor hate the guy, he’s doing his thing and it works for him. But he is a massive WoW fanboy and he’s pretty much quit playing WoW, stating outright that this expansion sucks and isn’t fun. That’s saying something when BfA is driving off even long time fanboys like him.
It’s not about hating him as a person for some of us. Although, he does engage in some pretty jerk activities from time to time like messing with certain servers and causing lag for whatever project he comes up with.
There are platforms to engage him and his other followers though. He has Twitter, YouTube, and other areas for communication I am sure. Posting spam threads on the forums (like this one) is pretty much just a bait tactic since it is obvious some people do actually hate him for whatever reason.
If fans didn’t pop in trying to speak the gospel of Asmongold every once in awhile, perhaps when someone brings up a good point that he had then there could be some discussion about it, but between him using the forums as a way to trash talk players and his fans coming here to flame and troll… The line between him and the forums has been broken.
The server lag, the forum trolling he has done, and the fans here on the forums are all things that have been well documented.
My favorite part about threads like this somehow thing he is a degenerate when he’s made more money than we could poke a stick at, has a huge following and generally understands the game better than we more than likely ever will
then everyone comes in here to say what a jerk he is and stoop right down to the level they think he is
expect he is getting paid for it
this might shock a lot of people but a people agree with a lot of the things he says because he has the same issues as a lot of players do.
