[Update] Alterac Valley of Olde Mount: Requirements -changed-

The Alterac Valley of Olde achievement was supposed to grant the Ram/Wolf mount.

People reported that they completed this but no mount was rewarded:

This morning I earned the Alterac Valley of Olde achievement, but did not receive the Stormpike Battle Ram mount. It was not added to my collection, nor did I receive an item in my bags or in the mail. For reference, I also completed the “Korrak’s Revenge” quest inside of AV, if that is relevant at all. Anyone else having this issue/any guidance on why I might be having this problem? Thanks in advance!

Blizzard’s official announcement said it was tied to the achievement: archive[dot]ph/5xfQs (details on why this had to be archived)

“Players who participate in Korrak’s Revenge and complete the Alterac Valley of Olde achievement can earn two mounts: the Stormpike Battle Ram (Alliance) and the Frostwolf Snarler (Horde).”

When Blizzard got called out for this time-wasting bug (20 min queues per match, matches can last over 30 minutes easy) they then threw in a hacky hotfix with a new ‘bonus objective’ to complete.

This new ‘bonus objective’ did not take into account ANY previous progress - including progress gained from unrepeatable questlines. So here we have an event with <200ilvl gear and everything just as it was in years past but now Blizz is to have us believe they wanted to change this away from the achievement (which the Mount Journal even states its from) to a ‘bonus objective’ with literally the same exact goal as the achievement?

Why can’t blizz admit they made a mistake and wasted our time because they threw together this event with little forethought? Is this the kind of low-effort hacky things I should expect in Dragonflight?

The solution they are trying to present to us is chaotic and unnecessarily complicated, yet still undesiring and frustrating.

In other words, they don’t understand what we want:

1. Players, who have already put the effort into Alterac Valley and earned the achievement, want mounts directly sent to them in any way without further meaningless effort.
2. Players, who have progressed the achievement halfway, want to keep playing the game, earn the achievement, and have mounts directly sent to them.

Nobody wants this messy solution that Blizzard presents.

Blizzard quit admitting fault years back. Anytime you turn in a ticket now its always something you did wrong.
