Upcoming Server Event | SPOILERS

The plague got in, and the undead followed. There seem to be cultists who followed along the sudden resurgence of the undead, and then went around making things worse for people. There also are hints of inconsistent control of the Scourge, not the reliable constant presence of a Lich King or even a local Lich, but periods of order, and periods of ravenous chaos.

Heck, who cares about how they got in to the city, how did they know how to get TO the city? Did the mindless ghouls build a raft to get off Northrend? Did they justā€¦swim? Why did they swim to Kalimdor instead of, say, the Maelstrom?

The Plaguelands exist.

The ghouls and zombies would probably get to said cities via the work of the Cult of the Damned. On the PTR currently it seems as if the Cult of the Damned have had a resurgence and at the moment seem to be responsible for the spreading of the plague to cities across the world.

Havenā€™t seen any plagued grain on the PTR yet so Iā€™m not sure of the direct methods the cult is using but hopefully weā€™ll be able to find out how theyā€™re doing their business.

But to address the OP, Iā€™d be so down for all-server RP events when the pre-patch hits.

I mean, plaguelands are fine for Eastern Kingdoms, but not quite Kalimdor. I can digest cult of the damned though.

I wonder if the Plaguelands even plagued any longer. They were looking good 12ish years ago.

All I know is that the Barrens looked like World War Z mixed with Dawn of the Dead.

Those poor quillboar didnā€™t stand a chance.

I wish there was a way to ā€œhold the lineā€ against player controlled ghouls, but right now theyā€™re so darn tanky they just bulldoze through groups and infect lower levels in a hit, who turn into tanky level 50 ghouls too.

the argent crusade was doing a pretty good job

but they seem to have walled themselves off from society and ignored sylvanas, so maybe the losses they took in Legion really were that bad. which would be unfortunate, but could explain why the undead break out of the plaguelands so easily.

ā€œYou guys had ONE JOB!ā€

in their defense, they did lose their tyrion and then get sucked into the silver hand organization

only to watch every other paladin organization leave the silver hand to go kill each other. canā€™t have been all that good for morale.

Speaking as one of Hotohā€™s guildmates, itā€™s truly exciting to see the positive response this is getting! Iā€™m new to the server and pretty newly returned to WoW period, so this will be not only be the first expansion transition Iā€™m actually experiencing, but also a potential big olā€™ RP event for me too! :relaxed:

Itā€™s going to be a lot of fun, perhaps finally, people will have something to do in the cities other than standing on the porch at the Wyvernā€™s Tail. So, Iā€™m all for, having all the character who are Northrend Veterans, swing back into action.

I will say, it will be unfortunate if the zombies all go away when Xpac launches, because an ongoing Scourge threat would make for good RP for those characters not going to the Shadowlands.

Iā€™m all for participating, if not helping organize something like this. Maybe setting up a ā€œsafe zoneā€ in each city and RPing refugees and supply runs and the likes. Thereā€™s so much potential here.

Axiann, thereā€™s no reason why you wonā€™t be able to still do that. The way I see it, those not going to Shadowlands ICly are left with a huge mess to clean up all around Azeroth. Whole zones have gone neglected, new threats have potentially snuck in, the plague may have affected low traffic areas that need help and so on. The common folks of Azeroth need some tender, loving care and this will be the perfect expansion to focus RPing that out.

First of all, totally echo what Wulffe said above. But Iā€™d add that, if thereā€™s Cultists of the Damned involved, they could totes still be plotting all sorts of things in Azeroth. Good guild storyline villains!

I agree, thereā€™s some good stuff there. It would be cool if guilds and communities came together to share ideas/plots so others could opt-in and make the world feel more immersive.

Do you mean like having a Legion Invasion occurrence on Broken Isles, but Scourge and on Azeroth?
