People have literally whined this game’s difficulty/challenge into the grave, what are you talking about? This has been going on for 14 years. You know what casuals use to wail and sob about in Vanilla? Not being able to SEE raid content. That has creeped into everything and gone much much further.
Blizzard has problem with communication. They never explained why someone soloing 4 daily quests should be equal to an entire heroic raiding guild clearing content, that’s a big problem and you expose yourself turning your nose up like that.

Not going to argue that. But it’s taken how many years for Blizzard to “listen” ? Maybe they’ll listen to the 200 replies on this thread, and apply it to future changes – who knows?! But they certainly weren’t looking for feedback about a change that they informed us about only 4 days ago.
Even the portal threads, which collectively were over 10k posts of protest and feedback and weeks before implementation, and the end result is they have decided, at a later date, to put back ONE of those portals.
I wasn’t saying I agree with the change or their lack of courtesy to inform the playerbase of changes. I was simply pointing out that they didn’t ask us for feedback about this – 4 days before implementation this was merely a “hey you lot, this is happening. Have a nice weekend” because your post implied that they should have been listening to the feedback.
Haven’t seen it in this thread, but it should be pointed out that a number of players, myself included, were waiting to turn in their emissary quest because of what the CM pointed out in the OP. These players either found out that the reward had changed or, like me, found out that the quest had disappeared completely. Thanks Blizz.
If you were in the NA region you wouldn’t have been able to turn it in before it went away because it simply timed out. You have never been able to complete them but hold off on turning them in until afterwards. Unfortunately the only ones we got since that Azerite Emissary were 2 1500 AP and then today we got a 200 War Resources so no loot Emissary for Alliance in NA yet.
Edit: If you weren’t in NA, not sure what to tell you. A friend of mine had one from Horde side that he got on Sunday that did upgrade and he was able to do it and get the upgraded ilvl gear from the Emissary completion.

I’ve never had emissary quests time out on me before to my knowledge. As far as my understanding goes, they stay there unless you wait until they are replaced by another.

Nah, if you look at ones in your log they show a time til they expire. Right now I’m looking at them on NA Alliance side. I have a Storm’s Wake from Sunday that shows the following:
Time Left: 17 Hours
Complete any 4 world quests in Stormsong Valley.
- 0 / 4 Complete 4 world quests in Stormsong Valley
Rewards
Radiant Azerite Matrix
And another for the Tortollan from yesterday:
Time Left: 1 Day 17 Hours
Complete 3 Tortallan world quests.
- 0 / 3 Complete 3 Torotallan Seeker World Quests
Rewards
Radiant Azerite Matrix
I did the one that came up today because I did the invasion on this character for the war resources. If I complete the Storm’s Wake one but don’t turn it in before reset tomorrow it just goes away.
sunday emissary, 385 gear reward, log in today, whole thing gone
If you go to Wowhead it says horde has Talanji’s expedition with 17 hours and 10 minutes left that rewards an equipment cache.
I’m not certain there. I know a friend of mine didn’t do any of the quests for his horde character and he logged in today, did the 4 quests for it, got the upgraded reward. I know he didn’t have anything done for them prior as I had to wait on him to finish up and come out to warmode for the invasion. I’m not certain if putting in a bug report would be useful but you can try going that route. I know NA Horde had one from Sunday and that sounds like the one he probably did. He said today was the last day it was up.
My mistake then. Apologies, but not to Blizz.
actually, i held on to my proudmore reward thinking i needed to wait until 10am, but was able to turn it in on several toons after 9am. the update went thru on the first patch this morning, not the second… although i did lose on the day before’s 7th legion cache by it vanishing like you said.
yea that’s the one. i saved it on purpose so i could turn it in after the update when the rewards upgrade and it’s completely gone now.
The Tiragarde one would have expired and been removed several hours before reset, unfortunately.
After all those weeks that Battle of Dazar’alor is avaliable, if the “Heroic Raiders” of your guild are as powerfull as a random newbie getting some random iLvL 390~400 gear from a emissary (or are being equally rewarded), it’s not that the newbie is too powerful. It’s just that your guildies are lacking. And since I’m sure you don’t want to disrespect your guildies like that, I think you should avoid saying that Heroic Raiders are equal to people soloing 4 dailies.
Go beyond the meme. The difference of power is still there.

This situation (like many other things lately) is being blown way out of proportion. The time it’d take for someone to suit up in emissary rewards would take a lot longer than a heroic raider (who then should be moving on to mythic if they really care about raiding at that point).
Mythics and raids get tons of fun stuff already, stop kicking and screaming because some people you don’t even play with can get some better gear.

Wow i gotta say they really dropped the ball with this. Quite depressing state of the game atm.

If your complaining about this as gearing casuals who don’t work for loot, but you only do heroic raiding, then ypu are as casual as they are. Go push high keys or start mythic raiding if you want to be above the casuals.
As a casual player this is dumb. Why are random world quests giving better gear than I can get in LFR or Normal? What is my incentive to do any raid content at all. Please fix gear progression.

If “fun” isn’t a good enough incentive to do a form of content, then this content must be left to die - it’s probably outdated/boring.
And still, LFR has it’s primordial use intact: Farm that transmog set.

I know Ion has briefly kind of given an over view in a Q&A or something, but I would love to see some kind of developer session where they explain the various gearing progression paths and how it all makes sense from Blizzard’s perspective in BfA.
My biggest complaint about the high ilvl catch up gear in BfA is that kills certain progression paths that perhaps were more normal in previous expansions - and more enjoyable to some of us than WQs. Primarily the previous tier raid and heroic dungeons - I feel like I outgear these within almost an hour or 2 of hitting 120. Maybe its the way I am doing things? But I have not seen a group for Uldir in weeks and have waited over an hour in the LFR queue as a healer on the weekend.
I understand what you are saying about the WQ max. Its not about that specifically - its that this just seems to continue a trend where in 8.2 I fully expect BoD to be as dead as Uldir is now. In Legion this wasn’t the case - you could find groups for any of the tiers through the end of the expansion.
The WQs may not be invalidating Raids (completely) now - but they will make Puging anything short of Mythic pointless for alts.
I’m someone who wants to spend time playing the whole game - and the trend to push people into the most current, and highest level, of content this expansion seems significantly more expedited than in the past - even for the previous tier.
My complaint - and others I have seen on this change - are not about the ilvl of WQs - they are about how the increased ilvl from WQs (without raising the rewards from other content) creates dead areas of the current expansion - either from lack of being able to find a group, or from a lack of meaningful reward vs. effort.
Its not so much a “highest ilvl”/“main” issue, as it is a “a want to level my alt and actually have them play the content available in a meaningful way” issue.
