Upcoming healer nerfs

What should be happening is tripling health pools (that would also “nerf” … relative … healing by the way) and move the huge hits further back so they don’t happen at levels where dps can fart around and watch youtube for a 3 chest.

Mate I know you more or less know how to play the game, you’re doing keys in the 20s and crap, but your take on overhealing is insane.

Overhealing will always be present. HoTs tick whether people need the health or not. Crits Crit whether you need the extra healing or not. (Obviously AoE Healing is AoE Healing but I understand you’re not referring to that).

But you’re acting like a nerf to ALL HEALING is going to somehow pull from Overhealing first and then Normal Healing. 10% overhealing + 10% Healing Nerf does NOT equal no change. That’s not how it works. You need the healing when you need the healing and the Overhealing is still going to happen for the same reasons it always happens.

I didn’t say “it will have absolutely no change”

I did say

I also said

Yeah sure and that phrase is meaningless filler, because absolutely no balance change will ever affect a specs’ ability to technically complete content. Blizzard might make questionable changes sometimes but they’re not THAT bad.

You’re still using Overhealing to downplay the impact of significant nerfs, and it doesn’t make sense to do so.

Whether or not the nerfs are warranted due to the nature of inflated stats in a final season is another topic and I’m not going to pretend to be up to date enough to comment on that right now.

Eh. Dollars to donuts most of these changes will be negligible imo

We always roll with the punches and seem to do okay.

shrug

I was replying to people stating that there will be a massive amount of people quitting healing because of this.

If you feel that this 5% nerf will cause a massive shift in people no longer healing, sure, you do you. But I disagree. I do think over healing is A factor to look at. The end all? Nah. But if everyone is regularly doing large over healing, then its safe to think that the over healing will absorb a good percentage of the healing nerf.

Now coupled with inflated power that I expected to accompany a fated season, and I dont see this effecting much.

I’m not sure why they felt the need to nerf Resto Druids when Resto Druids are already dead last in the most common raid difficulty:

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/35#metric=hps&difficulty=4

All I can guess is that maybe having access to Rashok’s Molten Heart again will be a really big boost. Or maybe the S4 tier set for Resto being the same as the S3 tier set, presumably allowing for mixing of S3 and S4 pieces to get tier bonuses earlier, would give resto druids an unfair head start on the season?

If there are two things that just go together so well its blizzard and healer nerfs one simply cannot exist without the other.

MW was very overtuned, but I think this is a poor way to go about things, especially for a role that already isn’t popular. It’s not fun to have nice things, then suddenly be gutted. Buffing other healers makes it more fun for everyone honestly.

Also, simply nerfing other classes fail to address certain healer issues… e.g. Hpal’s mana sustain.

Why did RSham get a 5% heal nerf? Outside of riptide they have to frequently hard cast, it’s not like they were over-performing.

Rdruid… didn’t they recently buff rejuvenation? Now they too, get a flat 5% nerf.

These changes seem very arbitrary.

As a disc healer who doesn’t raid, I’m basically getting buffs lol

Which is honestly hilarious consider, as far as I can tell, Disc was not hurting in m+ content. Like at all. In fact I think people considered second only to MW lol

EDIT: I’m still likely to main MW next patch even with the 13% decrease. I’m going to assume it’s ability to heal will still function and so far, it’s the only fun melee healer left. So again the nerfs don’t really bother me.

Just ya know…to beat that Forsaken’s horse over there…balance tuning one week from the patch.

I mean I would have them as 4th. Druid and MW are good as is no healer (no I’m not joking). After that Priest is great.

The expansion started off making healing miserable to the point a lot signed out. Now when they finally feel good again they nerfing again lol

Actually one thing im curious about. Based on their post, do they even intend to touch Prevoker hpal and hpriests?

The first paragraph imply they intend some tuning for those specs upward…but could also be read that nerfing everyone else was their balance pass. Which….aaaaaaa

While MW has been a bit too good I find it kind of insulting that dispite the player base asking for some help on Hpally healing feeling bad or at least underwhelming, it’s the heal spec not mentioned at all in the changes.

Mythic is what matters. Heroic is full of people not even trying.

I really don’t see why they needed to do this for fated season, if we’re going to get a phone it in raid season where we can’t really do much more then the previous seasons due to raids rotating weekly so prog is not a thing. I don’t see why healers shouldn’t be able to have an easier time this time when we’ll be reprogging the healing intensive final bosses of each raid each week as people relearn their mechanics.

Most of all I don’t see why they had to ruin holy paladin after fixing it and months later decide that holy paladin isn’t in a good state so we’ll nerf the healers that are (and resto shaman just for fun), except holy priest its holy priests turn now. Even if healers were overtuned they should have just let it go, buffed holy paladin for a patch and tuned us for war within while also nuking defensive cds because healing is awful nowadays because everything comes down to people using their 5 defensives to live rather then healers doing their job.

One of the strongest healers in m+

One of the strongest healers in raiding.

I honestly expect that even with these nerfs, healing will be an easier time this season.

:upside_down_face: Changes for raids. I guess they were afraid some of the “hard” bosses wouldn’t be so hard with juiced healers. Hopefully they give mist weavers some compensation for keys.

MW will still be great for the content I enjoy  I don’t think this really changes much of anything for me.

Spin to win baby! :tornado:
