They need to make money somehow after there Retail game / Shadowlands fails cause so many people aren’t buying it
Ontop of that they just banned multiboxing which is huge number of subs lost now
They are doing this to try to protect financial losses when they report to share holders and make it not look as bad as it really is
You wanna hit them where it hurts unsub from everything and don’t buy there games until they learn we are what keeps there company running
New zealand is irrelevant really, I’m sorry but you guys have been getting gouged for how ever long you’ve been paying $22. you guys over five years have always been with in 0.10 of AUD.
That doesn’t change the fact from 2014-2019 the Average AUD to USD is pretty much the exact same average as the current 0.73.
So now it’s 0.73 and it’s suddenly a problem which was not for 5 years? Is it a slow reaction to the 0.55 we dipped to in May at the height of the pandemic? Obviously if they increased prices immediately they would have been crucified. But what? They wait a few months and try to slip it in then when the australian dollar has stabilized and growing
Ok yep that’s a bit of a steep jump in price but i understand… It’s to bring AUD in line with USD as Blizz is an American company.
However…
If Australians are going to be paying the same amount as Americans we should be getting the same quality service… How about fixing the little things like -
Correcting the Server times (In game calendar Events are Currently incorrect for Australians)
Server lag Home/World pings for Battlegrounds are often Shocking! 10-14ping home but 100+ world pings are common for most Aussies
System notifications/Announcements in PDT rather than GMT Time on the Battlenet app and in game.
Accurate Day/Night Cycle’s for Oceanic Servers!
and more
Been playing WoW for YEARS and will continue to Enjoy it but maybe look into Little Things as they add up… just like the Price Hike

I doubt it, normally it works in their favor or about the same. At 1 point we were dollar for dollar (I brought so many tools from the states during this time) and we got no discount.
Personally I wouldn’t mind just being able to just pay in USD (not sure if there is a way to set to USD etc)
I actually posted about a similar thing at this exact time last year (Service prices increased due to tax laws). Makes me think that they planned this.
On a personal note this will make me quit I think (Another doom sayer here :p). Not that it’s a huge increase and I am currently on a 6 month but I was already thinking about taking a break (I was literally talking to my mate about it today) and I think this will push me over the edge.

If your going to charge more can you please address oceanic specific concerns and not treat us like dogs? Such as warmode alliance buffs for being “out numbered “ when they aren’t or the broken day night cycle or the fact that I do an island expedition with one other Australian and have selected party lead option why does it give the ONE American lead so 2 players get bad latency? God if shadowlands sucks your not going to have an oceanic poster base. Over 200 dollars a year plus the expansions to okay this game are you literally joking?
Oh also a broken calendar something a high school student could fix.

Piss poor form Blizzard. Give us a proper explanation about the real reason for the increased sub price. Almost paying $20 a month and you can’t explain why?
It’s just a price hike. The value of our currency against the USD has been pretty consistent over the past 5 years sitting at approx 0.74 / 0.75 against the USD (currently 0.73). What they are really saying is Aussies have plenty of money lets relieve them of it however close to a 20% price hike is a bit rich in the current climate.
Considering COVID you would have had an influx of new customers.

I jumped on Prepatch yesterday and was met with 3 second delays on cast times and overall poor performance.
If your going to charge Australians more at least try to justify it because none of your post supports a reason for the price hike whatsoever.

Well aren’t you a pleasant person, I forgot to edit this post but in my other comments I acknowledge that NZ actually pay more for their subs and I was incorrect in my assumption that since their dollar was weaker they paid less. perhaps practice what you preach and read the whole thread

This surely means that OCE issues (such as day/night cycle being tied to the US day night cycle, and warmode faction bonuses) which have never been acknowledged or looked into will finally be addressed right? RIGHT?
