You made a statement that was false, I corrected you.
So ret had a lot of utility to justify its lower dps and was still viable even before these buffs, so here is an idea to buff bm hunter utility.
Add a new 7th teir talent to pet talents that is a utility option that the hunter can chose 1 of 3 from (requires beast mastery talent to reach this teir and will only have 1 point to spend)
Gaurdian of the pack
Reduces all damage taken by raid members within 30 yards of the pet by 20% for 6 seconds, 2 min CD
Pack howl
Prevents everyone in the raid from being interrupted or silenced for 6 seconds. 2 min CD
Pack brother
The pet marks a target as its pack brother, causing the pack brother to receive all healing the pet receives from mend pet. Lasts 1 min with no CD
Yes all of those should look somewhat familiar, because they are paladin utility. And even then bm will be weaker in terms of utility because it only gets access to one of those abilities at a time.
Lastly make beast mastery talent also cause the hunter to be able to change the pets talents while call stabled pet is active.

Ret had extreamly comparable dps to bm, yet got a buff. So either bm needs a damage buff, or a utility buff to still be close to rets viability in raids.
The highest ilvl Hunter in the world is a BM Hunter. Just because you don’t understand how Hunter works doesn’t mean it needs a buff.

If talking about a ret, then your hunter pet would have abilitys to choose from a ret does not have. and a ret could also only chose between option one and two.
you should learn more about the spec to figure out what utility it can bring. Hint: most of the possible utility is not related to ret.
