Upcoming Adjustments to Retribution Paladins

I’m trying not to gloat or be petty, but responses like his do not make it easy. Speaking of which, has anyone seen Arcade or Yama? After yesterdays news, someone should call them and see they are okay?

I’d LOVE not to be petty… But so many of these same people were petty subhuman scum about how they treated us before and how they’re treating us now that I have 0 care about their opinion now, and hope they enjoy being raging hate-filled slime stewing in their own rage. <3

You’ve literally linked warcraft logs multiple times in this thread. Such a hypocrite with a delusional opinion; and one of the many forgetting we are playing on a patch with balance centered around ICC tier.

next response: yOu kNeW tHat cOmiNG iN

They can certainly choose to be angry if they wish. This should be nothing but a net gain for them. More ret DPS means the boss goes down quicker. PVE is a group effort.

These changes are more than enough. Ret already had decent representation despite it’s “low damage”.

It wasn’t just “below average” dps. It was a dps spec that was beginning to compete with tanks. The simple reality is that Blizzard’s original design intention in Wotlk was to allow classes to have viable dps specs.

Idk. It’s all good. I understand the other side, but I just wish people took a little time to see just how trash we were. Again, we are still likely to be the lowest damaging class in the game, but that disparity will have lessened. It was important, needed, and I am very appreciated that Blizzard looked at the data and changed course.

Linking the logs for the entire raid vs one encounter where utility is the reason a class is brought is different
Christ how stupid are you

Except that damage was the metric that Blizzard was measuring with this change. If our utility was in question, they would’ve addressed that. You can’t keep moving the goalpost Zune.

Oh look, a reason everyone in the thread should report you for real life threats :stuck_out_tongue:

Not moving the goalpost just pointing out reality, one that people delude themselves to thinking its not real and the only thing that matters is muh damage.

The spec has arguably the most utility out of any dps spec. They dont need a damage buff too. High utility always equates to lower damage.

If you want more damage then sacrifice some of the utility and give it to other specs who need it.

Oh look a snowflake

Anyway

Oh right, sorry everyone isn’t setting up very specific circumstance to call them decent like you, the guy who keeps citing the utility they have. As a raid leader, id rather run 2 holys and 1 prot, who wouldn’t you know bring the exact same utility.

Oh and your also the guy in here pushing the “they are good on algalon and brain room” BS, but then when logs get linked for YOUR NARROWED VEIW, the stance suddenly changes to “nah man link logs for the entire raid”.

Mr hot take in this thread all day.

The new change isn’t suddenly going to catapult us in to S tier dps. It’s simply going to bring us into line with lower damage specs like Fury. And our utility has already been considered with the new change (they’ve said as much).

So removing our utility isn’t necessary, and making us S tier is not what I want.

Cry harder, retailer :stuck_out_tongue: You wanna encourage suicide like a massive POS, that’s your mistake to make. May you get all that you DESERVE in life.

I’m sorry if you’re frustrated. I honestly do understand, and went back and forth with a few guildies about potentially buffing rets. I agree that higher utility should and generally does equate to lower dps. That said, the potential dps that we could bring was so low, it was becoming an issue. The way it stands now, we are likely still going to be the lowest damaging class in both ulduar and ToC, but the disparity between just how much lower has been lessened.

Idk. It means a lot to me. My guild didn’t want me to swap healer or tank. We also didn’t need another Dsac in the Raid. My option was increasingly becoming reroll in order to not hinder my raid, and that was kind of sad. This remedies that, and I am thankful

Time to nerf holy paladins in pve then? Because its currently the best spec period in the game. For PvE and PvP, granted the ret/prot spec is a thing as well in pvp.

I see both sides however

You have the most broken cooldown in the game

And bringing rets up to on par with fury with the most busted cooldown in the game is just beyond stupid

?

Yeah, just by the nature of OG Wotlk’s design, I wish Blizzard had taken an ever-so-slight tuning approach to it before releasing it. Idk. It’s all good. I get the frustration, but I also didn’t expect this, so it’s hard to not be a little happy for myself. We will see how it works out. Maybe Blizz will end up taking Prot down a notch. I think that would alleviate alot of frustration with Ret because tanks in Wotlk are so close to being pretty well balanced, but then Prot is just better.

Dont think you know how disc works.
