People had 8 months to get the “old” allied races while content was current.
I don’t understand why it’s suddenly a crime to go back to old content when you purposely skipped it. I didn’t feel like getting Netherdrakes back in TBC, should they be handed to me for free now?
False equivalency.. name one other race that we've had to grind out reputation to play? Just one.. I'll wait.
New race? None. Allied race? All of them.

I know that they will not read this or care probably. I played wow since vanilla and stopped because of work mid way in Legion playing every day. I saw a chance to come back in BFA, thought I would get a clean start with the allied race. Now I see that you have to do over 250 world quest in old content to unlock them. Just wanting to let you know that I might have bought BFA but you will not get my monthly money until they are unlock. Until then another MMO will get my money. This is just a message for Blizzard, not looking for any replies from the form trolls.
Why should they give you something for free that the rest of us put in the work for?
Suck it up, buttercup.

The difference is the Netherdrakes weren't announced as a feature of Wrath of the Lich King.
What difference does that make?
Personally I don't see why a new player shouldn't have the right to play an allied race without a rep grind, especially ones locked behind old content that they have to go out of their way to get while neglecting current content.
Because that's how Allied races work.
People who join after BFA is gone and done will have to go back and do Zandalari and Honorbound rep to get Zandalari Trolls and Mag'har Orcs.

The quests for Highmountain and Nightborne get you most of the way to exalted. It takes about 2 weeks spending 10-15 min (max) doing WQs to get exalted with Army of the light and the Argustian reach.
You also have the kirin tor tokens, you also have mission table tokens. Some of the WQs give BOA rep tokens (or at least they did when Legion was current). It's not that hard to play the game to earn the rewards.

Thankfully I had been a human for a while before vaniller launch so I could play the game.
How on earth were you able to roll a tauren at launch? I don't even wanna know what you had to do to get that rep' to exalted.
*throws a T-bone into the ocean.* You're free now. You're free!
One more reason Blizzard needs to stop adding races.

The Legion allied races aren't a part of BFA content. They're a part of Legion content that was released almost a year ago. The BFA races are a feature of BFA.

I agree Blizzard made a terrible decision with allied races. There are no other MMO’s in the history of MMO’s that had requirements to unlock a race. This is downright racist! and expecting people to go back and play a previous expansion is total BS.
We didn’t buy BFA to play legion. All the legion allied race requirements should have ended on BFA launch day. The 110 boost included with BFA should be the ticket to bypass legion.

But you could earn the rep before BfA launched.

Yes there are. SWTOR (before f2p, you had to play the game to earn certain races for your faction), CoH, DDO, there are some f2p games that have the requirement, though some let you skip it with $25+.
Having to earn rewards by playing the game those rewards are located in isn't unique to WoW.

Ok? If "that's just how they work", it doesn't change the fact that I think the idea was a bad one.
"Hero classes" which sound like they are much more prestigious and should be harder to get are instead way easier and aged way better.
If they add the same amount of allied races next expansion, aka 8, do you honestly think any new players will care about a game that has over half (16/29) of its character race options locked behind time gated grinds? Even now we have nearly 40% of them like that (at least once we get the last two).
WoW needs to get new players and this is not helping at all.

I don't disagree with your decision but I always say something to a poster who starts a thread but tries to say who gets to respond. You don't get to choose.
8.1 is doubling rep rewards for allied races.
This is true. Also there's a holiday on right now that gives a 10% rep bonus for lighting the fire at your wickerman. /cough
Idk as a returning player myself i appreciated at least seeing the legion zone only took me maybe a half an hour a day to grind out rep for void elf and lightforged.

Besides which, there is plenty of reason to consider the allied races BfA content not Legion content. It is a weird corner blizzard put themselves in. I am glad they at least are doubling the rep (although I think it is only for Argus WQs).

Get over it and do the rep gain. It’s not even a grind. You are just lazy.
This game is not a job. When people accuse other gamers of being "lazy" that really makes no sense whatsoever. Not all of us sit glued to our computer screens 19 hours a day in our parent's house.

Allied races =/= normal races. Thets why there is a separate section for them in character creation
My guess was they got a separate section because that was easier than redoing the original character creation UI.

"Having to do RPG content to unlock rewards in a MMORPG!?!?!?!?! WHY, I NEVER! I BID GOOD DAY TO YOU, WOW!"
Looks like all the young players are too used to the instant gratification from games like Pubg/Fortnite/BackOps where you just parachute down and have all the items and weapons you need scattered about. This isn't how an RPG works. I remember having to grind for my EQ Monk's Celestial Fists for months before getting it and it was the best moments of my life.
