I know that they will not read this or care probably. I played wow since vanilla and stopped because of work mid way in Legion playing every day. I saw a chance to come back in BFA, thought I would get a clean start with the allied race. Now I see that you have to do over 250 world quest in old content to unlock them. Just wanting to let you know that I might have bought BFA but you will not get my monthly money until they are unlock. Until then another MMO will get my money. This is just a message for Blizzard, not looking for any replies from the form trolls.

8.1 is doubling rep rewards for allied races.

In 8.1, you’ll get Legion rep twice as fast. It’s not the instant gratification you’re looking for but it’s something.

I agree on the old ones. Sending people back to old content that doesn't scale to max level to slowly chip away at rep is a strange move for this expansion. However, I can accept it for the newer allied races. I think asking people to play current content to unlock an allied race is a reasonable enough request. Since it will only really take one max level on each faction to unlock them all.

Get over it and do the rep gain. It’s not even a grind. You are just lazy.

The horde ones you would have completed on your way to complete pathfinder at the original drop of Legion.. If you had the exalted rep all you would have to do is the introduction quests to those two races... The alliance got the shaft in that they had to complete additional reps to exalted in order to get their two races.

Looks like Blizzard is still getting your money too since you are posting. Also, Blizzard said from the start you need to unlock them. You do realize you don't need to just do World Quests (which take like 5 mins especially if you are 120 in a 110 zone) as you can get tons of rep from your mission table. They also said the rep rewards will increase as well to help unlock them faster.

People had 8 months to get the “old” allied races while content was current.
I don’t understand why it’s suddenly a crime to go back to old content when you purposely skipped it. I didn’t feel like getting Netherdrakes back in TBC, should they be handed to me for free now?

I had to go do anglers rep for the waterwalking mount for a few weeks during legion. It's nothing new.

False equivalency.. name one other race that we've had to grind out reputation to play? Just one.. I'll wait.

The difference is the Netherdrakes weren't announced as a feature of Wrath of the Lich King.

Somewhere at Blizz HQ is a rather large golden scale with GRIND on one side and P2W on the other. I think the fulcrum must be an RNG pull cord See N' Say.
Once a day, time gated of course, they give our AR (among others) debate a whirl.

Allied races =/= normal races. Thets why there is a separate section for them in character creation

How is it you played half-way through Legion and never got Exalted with Nightborne or Highmountain?

The Legion allied races aren't a part of BFA content. They're a part of Legion content that was released almost a year ago. The BFA races are a feature of BFA.

Do the crime you do the time. Period. 8.1 is alt friendly. GL OP in all your gaming endeavours! Azeroth will keep its light on when you return!
Thankfully I had been a human for a while before vaniller launch so I could play the game.
How on earth were you able to roll a tauren at launch? I don't even wanna know what you had to do to get that rep' to exalted.

Gonna repost this because I'm not typing the same argument all over again:
Personally I don't see why a new player shouldn't have the right to play an allied race without a rep grind, especially ones locked behind old content that they have to go out of their way to get while neglecting current content. In fact, it severely alienates them because if they see that they can play as this cool new race, they have to level a character they don't want and wait weeks before being able to actually play the game with the character they want as a main. A lot of potential new players on the fence about dropping like $75+ to get the expansion and sub are going to give up before they even begin when they see that.
The problem is that you are not advancing your character, unlike most of the things that occur in game. I legitimately think it would feel much better if you could make an allied race character but have to go through a very long and challenging intro scenario or something at least once before you can take them into the world proper.
Also as somebody who missed Legion and ran back to Argus to farm nothing but vendor trash and rep every day for weeks, the old "sense of pride and accomplishment" arguement really doesn't carry over well for outdated content which is easily steam rolled, just time consuming, but most importantly time gated. Can't even grind it as you just have to go away and come back later after you collect your rep, it's just a chore. It's not really an accomplishment so much as just relief that it's finally over.
We also never had to unlock races before and even the hero classes had way easier requirements and felt much better with their intro scenarios vs a rep grind on a separate character. It all feels like a poor decision if you ask me.
Also if it doesn't "make sense" for story reasons, on past events that have already occured, why shouldn't we have to go back and earn the trust of Gilneas or the goblins, or go to Pandaria, or grind to exalted Ashtongue in Black Temple for DHs because that fight is happening as soon as you start the intro cinematic.
It deviates away from what we have come to expect in character creation in a way that isn't really fun.
