Until when, PvP devs?

How long are you going to keep ruining the game’s PvP by keeping it dependent on a bunch of crafted items, in addition to bonus sets of PvE items, causing this ridiculous gear gap every season? Stop planning the PvP design to depend on PvE or auction house/work orders.
It’s a really bad design… try learning from WoD’s gearing system.

what’s wrong with the crafted gear

Any good pve items I don’t know about?

The supposedly competitive PvP is actually favoring those who spend more gold, a really bad design.

Not really lol

the crafting order table is super easy to use and the rank of craft you get doesnt even matter for pvp. You can also always just sit on your conquest for a day or two and then copy what the top players are doing

Is it very simple and easy? Yes. Is it also completely unnecessary and they could just add the pieces onto the vendor? Also yes.

its really good for the profession economy

Yeah but like, why would a pvp player care about that at all? Have pve crafted gear all you want.

why would they not

idk its an rpg and I think encouraging crossover between different game types/modes is generally good. I think it could probably still be improved, but pvp gearing has also been way worse than it is now

If you shine nobleman’s shoes by the crafting station you’ll make a pretty penny.

I cant fully recall, as it has been time since the event, but there was a time i think in SL where people were using PvP gear in PvE content? I memba there was a change made then, and ever since, i stopped seeing PvP gear really being used in PvE.

Gg I was the .07% haste and arcanovoid embellishment that caused you to lose.

Nothing personnel kid

S1 SL duelist+ gear was equivalent to the hero/myth crossover that we have now (basically it was slightly worse than what a PvE player would get in their vault from keys.

This knowledge once it spread resulted in the highest pvp participation this game had ever seen, and thats with things like convoke 1.0 for druids existing.

Cross pollination is one of the healthiest things for the game. The insistence to gate and limit gear doesn’t make any sense.

these people will only be satisfied when they get a [Create PvP character] button on the login screen and can play max level rated PvP fully gemmed, enchanted from the get go after a 3 minutes time investment (just the time to put the 1 button rotation on the first action bar slot)

I’ve played for 20 years and the best gear has never come from PVP ever. You could say templates but that completely broke dueling so I’m not giving credit there either.

IF they put even 1/20th the effort they put into waterboarding us with boring leveling content every year and not giving Disc a stun into gearing maybe we could get a single season of PVP gearing where the best gear comes from PVP.

Because players who exclusively pvp and don’t interact with any other systems in the game are an extreme extreme minority and 99.9% of the players prefer to have RPG elements that crossover between content?

PVP should absolutely award pve gear; ESPECIALLY with how easy it is to pve gear atm and how the crest system already exists to prevent any “unfair advantage”.

So we have a PvP area in the city with PvP item vendors, but in reality we have to equip ourselves for PvP with crafted PvE items by order of service that receive PvE magic bonuses, other items with bonus PvE sets of tiers, and the PvP NPCs become dispensable and decorative. And they still call this competitive and RPG, when in fact it’s a very stupid logic.

It must be funny for a new player to realize that half or more the PvP gear they have is unused; it all comes from crafted PvE items and raid tiers. And the devs still don’t understand why WoW can’t attract many new players…

they didn’t gate conquest in… eternal? i think?

and i remember playing on like day 4 of the season in honor gear just getting worked by the unemployed who spammed games on day 1 to be full geared. not a huge deal but kinda lame, and they haven’t done it since.
but i think that put a bad taste in people’s mouths, they haven’t done it since

i like kennie’s idea for getting pieces you already bought though. i would try out MW every season if it didn’t require the complete wrong set of gear and not being able to change it is wack
