Unsubscribed ... pure RNG is no fun

Didn’t they just announce stuff like tokens and vendors and currency and whatnot that fixes a good chunk of the azerite gear RNG issues in 8.2?

Yea, a fix they could implement now or just before the raid… or do it mid 2019 or just before Fall in 8.2.

People seem genuinely confused that RNG is a thing. I left just before Cata because I was too busy and came back a month or so ago.

Did I miss the removal of RNG for loot in Cata/MoP/WoD/Legion?

I’m sure I’m not the only one who posts with an alt of the forums. Even if OP did post from his main, his point is still valid.

Every expansion since Wrath (maybe BC and Vanilla as well, I wasn’t there) has had, at least by the end of it, a catch-up mechanic involving tokens and/or currency and vendors that effectively rewarded time spent doing things more-or-less proportionally to the time spent with gear you could buy rather than a pure RNG where you had the same chance to get the drop you wanted the 375th time you downed the boss as you did the first time you downed the boss.

Legion had “bad luck protection” and later the essences currency and a vendor for leggos. Wrath had frost tokens.

It seems that BfA will at some point get that sort of thing as well, but the start of this expac seems more RNG-heavy than other expacs have been. It may be merely perception and bias of a community that has a less-limited supply of patience for RNG than it used to, or there may be more RNG in BfA than there has been previously. I’m thinking it’s a little bit of both going on.

In any case, Blizzard should consider introducing these anti-RNG fixes sooner rather than later, IMO.

There are “players” who post the exact same response to “goodbye” threads over and over again.

Sure you did.

Haha too funny

I got a new trinket and wrist, that improved my dps by a solid 500ish. I was pretty excited. My trinkets are very bad.

While I’m glad for you, the fact that you got 2 pieces of gear in one week hardly proves that everybody’s getting frequent big upgrades.

I never claimed that, or made that my point.

I was merely responding to the person that stated

Which of course implies that upgrades in Live don’t.

Considering how many “upgrades” my characters discarded last week because they were worse than nothing, I think your generalization is a little broad.

What generalization am I making?

My entire point is that it is false to state that upgrades in Live don’t mean something. I am disagreeing with a generalization that was made…not making one myself.

It is even more false to generalize that they do, when more often then not they are worthless.

Upgrades are occasionally useful. When my tank needs mastery/versatility (and is already far behind what he needs for versatility thanks to crap gear) and gets one crit-haste after another, that doesn’t mean anything more than the vendor value of the gear.

Agree 100% OP.

It’s funny, I left 2 mos ago but came back to check out 8.1. Know what the most fun I’ve been having is? Gathering resources to open new outposts and upgrade followers … because I know what I’m getting and I’m working on something.

I hate the RNG casino garbage.

Are you talking sideways upgrades or ilvl upgrades? Because agi, stam, hell… even armor has a higher stat weight than the secondaries.

Ok…I am not sure how this applies to anything I stated.

I feel like we are having two difference conversations at this point, as you keep implying I said things I never did. All I ever did was disagree with the statement that upgrades on Live mean nothing. Don’t add any more words to that, please.

LOL.

So I guess you think that gear ilvl upgrades on live mean something really important, because you keep trying to bring the argument back to before it was pointed out that they often don’t.

These posts are from people who never do content. Gear rains from the damn sky now. There are endless avenues to obtain gear. Mythic gear drops from doing non-mythic content. If you want to just buy your gear, there are third party sites for that I guess… get good plz

Once again. I never stated that.
