I will say, however that the “fresh” concept will have its time. I just don’t think, it’s right now because Blizz is more concerned with catering to the PROGRESSION crowd, first and overall. LITERALLY, they said that, in the VERY video.
Cry more. All you people fail to realize somebody will always have more than you. Somebody will always be better or have more time. And cheaters will always find a way to cheat. Grow up.
This presupposes that resources are so limited that they must cater to one or the other. It’s clearly obvious that this is not the case. Beside that, how exactly does launching a few servers with the expansion fail to cater to progression in any way, how does it cause detriment to them at all?
As mentioned all over the place elsewhere, Blizzard has taken note in the past over the RP-PVP thing and adjusted their approach based on popular sentiment, which is what you’re seeing here.
No. It’s possible (keyword) that there’s “not enough” to warrant “fresh” servers. Nothing more, nothing less.
Wasn’t even the argument I was making
This has NEVER been my argument, and I’m not going to address nor entertain this.
Again, like I said, I don’t doubt “fresh” will happen. I just don’t think it’s time, yet. And, like I said, their first and MAIN priority are the PROGRESSION folk, first and foremost. That’s, what they said. Again, “fresh”'s time will come. I (personally) don’t think it’s now, that’s all.
The fact that they didn’t mention any fresh server options after being extremely lax on anti-cheat in classic is a bad sign. All sorts of hacks went unchecked for months that corrupted economies across all servers. There is a huge demand for a clean break from all that unchecked and rampant cheating, along with separation from the p2w crowd seeing as the last survey showed 40 percent of the population now buys gold. Players that don’t want to buy massive amounts of gold to keep up with the credit card swipers won’t have an option. Rename expansion to The Burning Wallet since the new status quo is third party gold.
You think gbids were bad before? They’ll be the only option in the future due to a lack of anti-cheat and gold purchases.
Perhaps I’m just reading too much into this statement that one needs to be the priority over the other, (perhaps hyperbolically) assuming the level of effort here rounds to zero. Hopefully this is addressed in the Q&A so we get an affirmative up or down on their thinking at this point.
Why are you guys hyped for BC but want to level 1-58? When the expansion launched did you not take your geared characters through that Dark Portal? Besides, everyone will be rolling Blood Elves and won’t have a choice but to roll 1-58.
I rolled on a new TBC server when it launched in a region closer to me geographically after a cross-country move. I enjoyed it so much that I did the same on WotLK.
The reasons why people might want this are plentiful, especially the ones joining classic for the first time with this expansion (anecdata, but I know of several who are watching these developments with interest) who don’t want to start in an economy where spellcloth and such is totally unaffordable for the first phase(s)
I would say so. I’m not saying Blizz NEEDS to prioritize. I’m stating that THEY are prioritizing because there’s video evidence of them stating so. I don’t want them to prioritize, I wish they wouldn’t, alas it’s what they’ve chosen to do.
Negative.
OK?
Agreed. At least have them express SOMETHING about “fresh” Servers.
I started in BC, so I had NO 58 to play in Outlands with. I leveled from 1 - 70, that ENTIRE expansion!
IDK about EVERYONE
This isn’t me, some want to wipe everyone’s progression to “reset” gold and all that stuff. For me (personally), I view it as two different games, but I never was “for” nor “against” “fresh”.
