If a player falsely reports another player, they should face the same penalties as which the reported player would have accrued.
Player 1: “Hello there”
Player 2: reports player 1 for spam
Player 2: gets silenced for one day for falsely reporting another player
This would only happen though, if there were a human presence to look at said report though. You know it’s getting bad when guilds are false mass reporting other guilds for the sake of progression and spite.
You’re not a small indie company anymore Blizzard.
Sure doesn’t seem a unpopular opinion. Here’s my take though.
If the report abusers get caught, it should have their results rebound and doubled the length of time. Banned from social related activities for a week? Lets double it…! And they have their report ability revoked for…who knows how long, 6 months maybe?
If player 2 get silences then the report was valid! Gm’s review reports and issue silences or suspensions based on the logs and current policy. There are no automatic silences or bans due to reports.
This has been proven incorrect. There are videos showing actual chat bans and there are people who have been banned for a month for supposedly being AFK in AV. Blizzard has even acknowledged this.
Yeah tbh really does look like spam from someone who broke the rules they agreed too, got silenced and is now having a temper tantrum on the forums spamming threads with alt characters…
Nice emotion-based assumption there. It would be one thing for you to disagree with my opinion, but to go on a tirade like that and be 100% wrong is another thing entirely.
Like I believe those video’s, As far as I know the only automatic thing is the squelch. Show me where blizard has officially said there are automatic bans?
