I’ve been playing since Wrath, and yes, we had speedrun Heroics even back then, after the content was on farm.
Never have I seen this as prevalent as it is on LEVELING NORMALS though, specially with new players on the mix.
Not even in SL.

What’s funny is when the tank runs all the way to the first boss while people are still loading in, dies, has an absolute meltdown, then leaves.
You first used “degenerate” incorrectly then claim Mythic+ promotes said behavior. It doesn’t.
If I didn’t guess any better, I would say this is a “you” problem. Even if the run flops, I don’t go whining about it. At least… too much.
… I seriously don’t know why we’re talking about Mythic+ when it doesn’t have anything to do with the subject at hand.
What I mean to say is, it’s not wasted, even for you, if it keeps a game you enjoy healthy and booming.
I am talking about basic foundation but yes they are different in their own ways. i don’t work at blizz so idk if they borrowed it from challenge mode or tried to just come up with something different.
True that’s true.
Same lol. I always figured m+ was an adaptation from GRifts in D3 but it wouldn’t surprise me if challenge modes were used as a foundation for their addition to WoW
hard to say though i figure if it truly was a spin off of say challenge mode why they waited a few expac MoP - Legion to launch it. could of used it as a basis in WoD to test out. but who knows. kinda same thing with the talent tree’s but i mean thats been an ongoing debate for a while now and it’s still kind of the same issue as the older tree we had imo. still got cookie cutter builds we have to take or lose out on massive utility/dps.
some changes we can take but the whole point i think people were complaining about with the tree’s were they didn’t want the same cookie cutter builds but it’s literally the same thing just a newer design.
pretty sure wow steals concepts from other games i know they steal from DnD but lets be honest who doesn’t? or they like to use the word “inspired” but really it’s just stealing i guess you could say
Player housing is an idea where the real question to ask before committing to it is: “would the game survive the expansion sized content drought required to create it?”
Which… probably not. Since we’ve seen what SL did.
gonna say this but player housing is technically not the garrison.
you dont even have a bed to sleep in!
I agree that player housing is pointless in a game like this. Having it instanced and separated is the only likely implementation, and then what further purpose does it actually serve? Guild housing makes more sense, but even then it’s just a private club overshadowed by main cities. Players will go wherever they need to for an auction house, professions, and their most used portal options.
No one was ever hanging out in someone else’s garrison, especially not during the height of WoD with the Salvage Yard, and tailoring it to your own achievement hunts or goals. They implemented the incredibly buggy system for the garrison invasions and rankings for achievements, but it still amounted to very little.
The only concept I support in place are Class Halls, but we still spent little time in those during Legion. WoD sucked because there wasn’t much to do besides raid or PvP. You had the dungeon CMs, but M+ wasn’t yet introduced. There was effectively nothing on the world map.
I honestly don’t see why they could reintroduce class halls. Those were actually good. Especially for the hunter.
You are wrong
Ok kiddo, seriously though, your response comes across like something a child would say when they don’t agree with something.
Wouldn’t it be neat if the way to get into a house instance (where you could hopefully view other people’s houses as well) would be through a sort of tinker town portal in these dead cities? No hearthstone there, no port there, just a reason to briefly visit the city.
Imagine how busy those cities could feel with people going in and out of their homes. Would be neat to head toward my house in Ironforge and see more than 3 people due to the new attractor.
On the other hand, any player of WildStar can tell you that it also doesn’t have a major effect on subscriber populations. People may spend time in the housing if it’s there anyway, but nobody stays subbed for the housing. Especially since lots of games have housing, including some F2P.
There would almost definitely be furnishings in the trading post if there were furnishings at all. Whether that constitutes “monetization” depends on what you believe about certain datamines…
Bottom line, it’s fluff, but for some people it would be enjoyable fluff, like transmog. Would anyone stay subbed because of housing? Doubt it. But you could also say that about transmog and pet battles and they implemented those anyway; they clearly have a fluff content team at least some of the time.
If housing was good enough id stay subbed for it
Player housing was originally meant to be a vanilla feature; the portal behind the portcullis in Stormwind was meant to take players to the housing district.
I don’t think so. Vanilla entails WCIII, where our toons were part of a military force and they “woke up” at a checkpoint.
The lore changed, ngl, but Gnomes and Dwarves were both at battle with the Troggs.
Until the Gnomes got bombed.
They’re not gonna have player housing until they’ve drummed up enough micro transactions to monetarily support time it took to implement
