Full disclosure - I main a healer/this is not trolling
As the title suggests, my outlook on the game mechanics is quite different than the norm. I believe healers should not be able to dps, and dps should not be able to heal. I have a few reasons behind this but I’m curious to know what your take is on this and why.
because it would significantly lower the skill ceiling and I don’t think WoW can take much more of that
DPS healing is a much bigger problem than healer damage at the moment. It’s reasonable for hybrids to have a bit of healing. In the past, rets have had good burst healing but oom quickly and can’t heal for a while. That’s more how it should be. It’s really frustrating to go oom as a healer in 2v2 while facing a double dps team.
Literally the biggest problem is how am I going to fit into this dress before Saturday night?! I haven’t been a size 8 since senior high xx

I’m going the opposite direction. I think every spec should be able to dps, with some classes having support as main either in the form of control, heals or mitigation (tank).
The support specs would still do a good amount of damage, but would bring unique benefits to a group.
That would require extensive redesign and isn’t likely.
