Why put quests in Stormwind if your game can’t handle it? Even Elwynn lags out but it’s impossible to do anything in Stormwind. Weird how many other games have no issues but this one does.

I think they want to be able to play the game. Stormwind is practically unplayable on Moon Guard even right outside the gate. Rant or not its a major issue that needs to be rectified.

I’m happy to try to help Blizzard troubleshoot their own servers, sure. They appear to be in need of it.

Sorry your server is lagging. Nothing we can do to troubleshoot that. Maybe maintenance tomorrow will fix it.
This has been an ongoing problem, if you look up “Moon guard stormwind lag” on google. They’ve yet to fix it and its only getting worse.

Kind of glad this post was made, I was troubleshooting my own network thinking I was lagging bad with low ms when it was a server side issue. Leaving stormwind/elwyn fixed the lag.

Seems to be more of a sporadic thing, more often occurring during world events which is probably funneling more people into stormwind, which isn’t sharded on roleplay realms.

If that’s the case, maybe it would be prudent for Blizz to implement it.

There are pros and cons to both sides. Local stability vs roleplay
Sharding shouldn’t be a requirement for no lag, they should probably solve the issue of awful servers if a few hundred people are in a zone in an MMORPG. Perhaps they need to scale down the game a lot and just call it morpg

If you’ve got suggestions on how Blizzard might be able to help their servers, you can move this over to the Moonguard realm forum or General. No one who takes feedback comes here, Tech Support is a player run support forum for help with things like troubleshooting.
Like Battlecruisr mentioned, if you are seeking actual help, you’ll need to post some diagnostics and more info then “Stormwind is lagging”.
Sure I need them to follow my troubleshooting steps first like turning it off and on again, resetting their cache, deleting their folders and what not…

Seeing as no one who views this forum has access to Blizzard servers, your suggestions to “turn them off and on again” goes nowhere. If you want to be snarky where it might be seen, you will need to do so on the appropriate forum. If you just want to vent, which is what it seems, there are also better forums for that.
But I’m sure you already know all this.
Honestly didn’t know this forum was for “help from the public” and not “Blizzard Support”. Good to know.

It’s not like they tell you that in the forum stickies. You could a minimal amount of preparation before posting.
I mean sure, but when I clicked on the forum I saw this thread and went to see before I looked at the stickied comment. No need for snark if you’re supposed to help people.
RP really doesn’t matter if we can’t play the game because Moon Guard is unstable and laggy. Blizzard really needs to shard the RP realms like they do every other realm. No point in participating in world events if Blizzard refuses to fix the technical issues plaguing our realm of choice for RP.

I cannot recreate these lag problems, but I’ve tried to do so many times now.
If you have modified your game client with addons, then your troubleshooting process should start there.
Beyond that, trying another network or a VPN can help diagnose an ISP routing issue.
