Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread 🐍

I refuse to read through all this about snakes, but: EWWWW SNAKES.

Also, this new forum format sucks. This has been my daily complaint post, peace out.

Why do you think snakes are ewwww?

that sounds like heresy

Or very poor taste in animals at the very least. What do sethrak do to heretics I wonder.

To each their own, I wont bother trying to tell people to like the Sethrak if they are uncomfortable with snakes. shrug however I can’t wait for them to be a thing, Blizz just need to now do their story and actually not keep us in the dark anymore about all this. Cool, Zandalari and KT are coming soon but we’ve known about them for almost a year now… Hype us up about another new AR pls

Anyone else loving how whiners (namely horde ones) love to say this stuff and somehow ignore the ‘Blizzard works on Alliance content third’ part? like they don’t realise this has been the case for several expansions now, its always Horde > Big Enemy of Expansion > Alliance > Minor/Side Expansion

Sethrak only having 1 female model/animation geoset and end up playable? = Alliance Content Worked on second to LAST once again pretty easy to connect the dots there, after all Nightborne had no player animations, geosets or even skeleton then they became playable next expansion? obviously had to be a Horde race since content worked on first.

But i also agree with that Discord thing mentioned quite a few comments ago, while it is greedy or scummy its not the worst thing Blizzard could’ve done (which they’re actually doing anyway in other areas) so think of it as a lesser of two evils.

What kind of stupid logic is this? Post 300 images of Worgen, but you could still tell which one is Greymane. Still doesn’t change that he has the exact same model rig as male Worgen.

Its a shame his fur and facial design isn’t being in the updated Worgen unless its not shown yet :frowning:

differences between male snakes and female snakes are impossible to tell without looking at the genital slit to figure out which gender it is.

Also, if you read AND looked at the link I posted, you would actually see that the model is different and what is actually different about it. The differences are slim, but they are there. If you fail to see this, the conversation is done~

Yes, the story for them has been dictated more towards horde. The story MIGHT continue with them interacting with them. It also might end up moving more towards the alliance. It could even be neither and they just keep them in the NPC land. None of us know, this is all speculation and if you don’t actually have anything to add and instead continue to bash those of us who want to believe. You know the way out

Another fun factor is the Da’kani Gorillas in 8.0 they were even more friendly to the Horde than the Sethrak as prior to the aggressive Apes showing up they were allies and traded with the Zandalari then after the Horde show up they killed the aggressive Apes and the Goblins were going to work with the new leader for the Kaja’mite, now lets fast forward to today in 8.1 where the Goblins have suddenly said ‘nope F this lets kill them’ and started poaching and killing all of these highly intelligent Gorillas who are basically the Zandalari and Horde allies just cause (literally not much was written about this issue) and now Grong there greatest (and first Dire Gorilla in the game) sided with us to become a living war machine by choice, in the raid Horde kill him and then a Zandalari Necromancer raises him from the dead really quickly.

Apply this logic to literally ANY race thats neutral in the game right now despite being friendly towards a faction slightly and they can do anything with them ie Nightborne, Sethrak, Tortollans while things like Jinyu, Hozen and Vulpera are far too aligned to one side despite being neutral can’t really work then.

You said “same model,” not “same model rig.” Not my fault you didn’t type what you truly meant.

Lol please stop.

You knew exactly what I meant, and he does have the same base model. Having higher polygons doesn’t change anything. A different model would be Thrall vs normal male Orc model.

Did you really just try to compare random gorillas from a side quest to a major race we interact with and have a reputation with? What is wrong with you Alliance Sethrak people’s brains? How does any of this make even remotely any sense in your brains?

why are you so convinced Sethraliss is a ‘male’ model when I showed you distinct proof? I linked you the page that shows a clear difference, quoted the text that highlights the difference between her model and the others.

And Relart is simply stating that a story can turn in any which way at any given time.

Though I’ve stated before, I ultimately don’t care if they are alliance or horde…so long as they’re playable, I’m happy!

the sethrak females in the game aside from sethraliss DO, as of right now, have the male model. However, it doesn’t mean that the sethraliss model used won’t be used for all the other females later on.

Also, stop insulting me. Do you see me belittling you? No, you do not. If you don’t want to have a civil conversation about it, instead of acting so rash as you have been, I’ll simply ignore you from here on out.

I’ve stated before, snakes have little to no difference in their male/female bodies, there is a distinct difference between the male models used for everything and the model used for sethraliss. If there was not going to be a female variety of the race, why even bother putting in a female voice over for it?

No problem with junkergnomes being an allied race!
Just in pairing!
If the races that are used do not have equal appeal and charisma for the players one will eclipse the other in a damaging way!

If junkergnomes are pairied with vulperas, this will kill any interest in the alliance, compared to what will be, if vulperas are put into the game for player use in horde!

The exact same reason they did for literally every NPC race? There’s voice acted female Arakkoa, Tortollans, dragons, loa, etc. Your argument is faulty.

I wouldn’t need to insult you if you weren’t so adamant in refusing to accept reality. Sethrak are an NPC race that won’t be playable in BfA, if ever. If they were planned to be playable Blizzard would of made an actual female model at the very least.

A reality that you claim is set in stone. I am simply building upon possibilities. There is no reason to insult me in the first place, I have done nothing to deserve such talk nor have I belittled you in the slightest.

I’m well aware of the possibility of them being an NPC, but I am also exploring the possibility of them not. How it might go about doing so, what events might occur. Since when is speculation, hypothesizing, being imaginative a crime? Since when is it such heresy for one to think outside the box?

If you don’t agree with it, I’m not going to argue, and I’m done trying to prove things I’ve already stated with solid proof. There IS a female model, just not used amongst the other models used in Vol’dun. Just because there is -very minimal- details changed does not make it the exact model. Same animations? sure, there might not be many differences brought to light. Why can’t I think that there might be some more that they’re simply not showing us?

This is a thread to be open to discussion, not criticized nor bashed because of how we feel about the concept and idea of the sethrak as an allied race.

I respect your belief that you don’t feel it won’t happen, and I would appreciate that you respect mine in that I believe it will until I’m told BY the developers themselves, or the expansion ends with out them, that they won’t happen. THEN I will move on and continue in knowing.

Another detail that keeps me hopeful about sethraks for the alliance, is that in Voldum, we received only quests from the 7th Legion / honorbound and from the people who are in the region!

With the exception of the exiled zandalar and the vulperas, the Alliance has no interaction with them either in lore or in quests given by them.

Horde and Alliance share quests given by Tortolans and Sethraks, but only the Horde interact exclusively with Vulperas!

Alliance interacts with sethraks, by quests! Why?
Because there will be more history for the people of the region, involving sethraks / vulperas and Ally / horde!

Even before the end of Legion,
I did not expect Nightborne going to the horde!
High Moutains? Yes!

The reputation itself wins with Voldum, includes all the people living on the map. Vorrik and his followers, the vulperas, the tortolans and the zandalar exiles!

In future patches, there will certainly be specific reputations for vulperas and sethrak, in order to release access to them, as is done with the current ones in the game today!

There’s no saying rep is going to be necessary for each and every AR released. There’s some, I believe, that will be locked behind doing story and quests instead of just another rep grind. They stated this in an interview as well that not all of them are going to be rep locked, so there’s hope that they won’t be.
