Thatâs a neat little site, very interesting~
to be fair, even this site has issues with the hood clipping through armor, but honestly? doesnât dissuade me in the least.
Still want my snakey boys and gals
It was done with good will and love and thatâs why itâs beautiful. Iâm almost crying with satisfaction.
Ah I love that site. My guild was playing around with it and I made my sethrak mage in there too. At least the best I could.

Please be sure to give Solvic the likes, as this is their picture and model they created on the web site.
Letâs get some reptiles on that character creation screen!
I love it! Now if only we could get these in WoW! Câmon Blizzard, weâre practically doing the work for you ;3
See. This is the crazy thing! You got people designing Sethrak characters in art, making stories, playing DnD and Pathfinder and using engines such as Heroforge to bring their Sethrak to life. And then in game you have Rogues or people buying reflecting prisms to appear and or roleplay as a Sethrak in game.
Just from the revenue standpoint alone, why do we not have playable Sethrak yet? People are spending money and resources to replicate what they want. In and outside of the game. Why? Mostly because they arenât playable. And theyâre popular enough that people are willing to spend money and time to somewhat replicate that desire to play one.
I dont think thatâs why they should be Horde.
I do however think they should be Horde because the Horde helped them a lot more than the alliance, they are on good terms now with the vulpera and zandalari, sethrallis showed up to the coronation ceremony along with other sethrak, to go alliance would turn their home into an active war zone since they are on zandalar with 2 horde races, one of which is located in the same zone as them.
Reasons to join the alliance: at the very start of the war the alliance helped a member of the sethrak very briefly.
So to me it just seems like there are a thousand reasons for them to join the horde over the alliance if they were to join any faction at all.
Storywise, yes. But the Nightborne situation shows us the story can take a hard left whenever they want it to.
Gameplay-wise, thereâs many good reasons for Sethrak to go to Alliance. Theyâd bring much needed diversity to the faction whose only âmonstrousâ race is Worgen (who are, at the end of the day, just cursed humans). The Devoted have shown themselves to be a society based on justice and faith, which fits in well with the Alliance, and their motif of an empire destroyed by internal issues is also one that we see repeated on the Alliance, whereas the Horde is more a collective of tribal societies and survivors.
Also, after the not well received allied races weâve gotten, the Alliance just really needs a win in that department.
but the nightborne were helped equally by the horde and the alliance so it makes just as much sense to go horde as it does alliance.
there are lots of races that make narrative sense that could do that. Like the jinyu should be playable on the alliance by now.
I know im just one player and clearly the masses have spoken, but other than LF draenei which completely suck, to me there isnât a single bad alliance allied race. The only Horde one I rank above them is vulpera
I do wish folk would stop using this reason.
Itâs very subjective.
I for one feel very happy with our ARâs.
yeah for me it was like
Do you wanna play a HM tauren? No
Nightborne? Sure letâs just look at their models⌠oh noâŚ
Maghar? No
Zandalari? No
Vulpera? Yes!
LF draenei? No
Void elf? Yes!
Dark iron? Sure
Kul tiran? Theyâre awesome!
Mechagnome? Theyâre pretty cool
You definitely make some valid points! I think Alliance players just want something new other than human/elf/gnome/dwarf on their side of the table. The Horde has such variety when you look across their races.
Another big concern is that if Horde gets Sethrak, that Alliance wouldnât get something interesting like Jinyu. Theyâd get some boring reskin like⌠red elves or pointy-eared gnomes or something. Obviously if Alliance got Jinyu then Iâd be thrilled for Sethrak to go Horde, win-win, but after Alliance got Mechagnomes, thereâs not a huge hope for a fair treatment like that.
I like the mechagnomes and actually did ask blizzard to make them a thing XD
But I will admit that Vulpera as a pairing was a bit uneven. Not because Vulpera are better, but because Vulpera are unique.
I think because of the time constraints after the azerite reworks and then them bailing on the expansion we might have missed out on 2 more allied races that might have evened things out a bit.
Like maybe kelfin and ankoan
But thats just theory.
Yeah, thatâs the frustrating part, is that weâll never know. Looking back on some of the theories that were coming out before 8.1 and 8.2 were a thing, it was clear that people had big ideas and concepts for where the story could go, and honestly a lot of them were a bit more interesting than what we got. The fact that the Zuldazar story felt so disjointed, especially when you witness Mythrax destroy the Great Seal, only to then go back to using the portals in that same room as if nothing happened. The fact that Sethralissâ avatar returned and Korthek died and yet the Faithless are still waging war against the Devoted and Vulpera.
Instead of pushing into that story to, idk, recover the Sethrak civilization and bring them back into the light of their Loa, we got shunted to Nazjatar, and gosh is it bizarre to see Gen Greymane there and also on the ship in Boralus, along with all the other doubled-up characters that suddenly got dopplegangers in both places. The zone was interesting, the story was neat, and there were some cool systems there⌠that were immediately replaced by the next patchâs systems. Who even has a piece of Benthic armor equipped on their character any more? Youâre either geared before it, or you quickly gear past it.
So suddenly we went from a bunch of incomplete stories to another incomplete story, and do the Ankoan/Gilgoblins really get released from their eternal war against the Naga? I know itâs an MMO and each zone needs persistent enemies, but again, it feels as a player to be really incomplete.
Then the rest of the story is all about Nâzoth and EVERYTHING else in BFA is effectively just background noise at that point.
So what do we have out of BFA?
- A Loa thatâs back, but isnât?
- A Sethrak empire without an Emperor?
- Two underwater factions with no hope of escape?
And a half dozen other unfinished threads besides.
Thatâs a big reason I want Sethrak as a playable race, in part so we can finish their story and get to participate in it.
Itâs the pain of having a pick your questing zone. You canât do too crazy things that follow up in the other zones or the order wonât make sense.
Still, we do see some things.
The golden seal becomes cracked and unmoving for your character after the event happens, but all NPCs are as regular which can be a bit weird straight after I agree.

Well, Sethraliss is back, but havenât done much really from what we have seen. She is present at the terrace of the devoted in Volâdun for Horde characters that finished the Volâdun questline and done the instance. We also see her in the childrenâs week quest and her presence at Talanjiâs coronation.
-
It would be nice knowing more about the faithless for sure. We have really no idea how theyâre doing.
-
The unshackled show up at the beach in Durotar outside of Orgrimmar. So I think theyâre fine at the moment.
But there are really a lot of other unused threads that would be nice to see resolved.
We even killed Mythrax, the ancient beast that killed Sethraliss and was sealed by the keepers. And we get no reaction for that plot point, either from the faithless or Devoted.
I do hope we get to see some more of how theyâre doing during SLs somehow.
Or at least after.
Yeah shouldnât the death of Mythrax, Korthek, and the return of the avatar of Sethraliss pretty much spell the end of the Faithless Empire? All of the pieces they were counting on to become conquerors were stripped away very soundly and definitively.
They could still fight on.
I imagine theyâd fall to infighting to get a new leader, while others joined the Devoted/Sethraliss, some others fleeing to get away from both groups.
Itâs one of the fleeing groups Iâd use to join the Alliance. If I were blizz.
Thought I would repost this handy link.
There is some good information here even where we are now compared to when the article was written.
And by all means read the comments too.
