Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread 🐍

This would be great, for sure~ Horde just got some more much needed cute with the Vulps so now it’s time to balance out the Ally side with something fresh, too!

And who knows, maybe just like I had friends go horde for Vulp some people would go Alliance for Sethrak, I know I would.

Yeah, and since many Alliance players seemed pretty disappointed with Kul Tirans and Mechagnomes, maybe finally getting a race we want will help :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey now, I resent that remark! (I kid)

I think the Alliance would appreciate something so very different from what they’re used to.

Haha, sorry mate! I actually like mechagnomes myself, they’re a neat concept, but yeah, getting something rally different style-wise for Alliance will breathe some character into the faction.

You’re good. It’s objectively fact that mechagnomes weren’t received well and you don’t strike me as someone who treats folk bad for the character someone plays.

I think this is what holds the Alliance back. The devs are so reticent to add something outside the Alliance mold that they refuse to give us anything neat.

Nothing wrong with us mechagnomes or the Kul’tirans but we’re kinda just more of the same.

It’s time for something new.

Big agree. I do worry however that the devs will bend to the people that think that Sethrak should go horde just to keep Alliance as ‘human/elf’ as possible. That reticence has been felt all the way since TBC. I remember when Draenei were introduced and Alliance players felt like they’d gotten the first ‘ugly’ race on their side :stuck_out_tongue:

I would say, all we can do is ask for what we want to see.

I remember when the Draenei were added folk kept saying they were the Alliance Tauren. Lol

I remember that too! And goblins were the ‘Horde gnomes’ and so on!

I honestly don’t care which side gets Sethrak, because that’ll be the side I main on from then on, but Alliance I think would do better with them and the story would make a little more sense to me at least.

Remember to make your suggestions to Blizzards using the in game suggestion button! It’s under help on the ingame menu.

I also remember these things. Lol

And belfs weren’t proper Horde. How things change.

Sethrak for the Alliance! (but playable is fine blizz seriously please) :snake:

They were treated as poorly as the Vulpera are currently at first. I can’t say peoples fears weren’t justified since they did overtake all the other Horde races but funny to look back on.

It’s a shame that people are… uh… racist? in WoW, over virtual races. But, I doubt that the Horde or Alliance will be overrun with snake people in the long run. People tend to like looking attractive, or to make something that resembles themselves, as part of the ‘self-insert’ fantasy, hence why blood elves, night elves, and humans are the most popular races.

Still, Sethrak would make an excellent addition to either side!

It is truly odd isn’t it?

They’re pixels and its not like anyone of us is responsible for what Blizzard releases.

Probably true enough. Hard to tell how well the Sethrak would do overall.

I agree that they likely wouldn’t overtake the Humans and Night Elves… and Void/High Elves.

Aye.

Give us snakes Blizz!

Haha, if anything, I’d expect them to do better than Mechagnomes and Kul Tirans in terms of popularity, so if Blizzard wants to add a race that people actually want to play, they should definitely add Sethrak!!

Slightly changing course of topic here. But did everyone watch the Afterlives: Ardenweald?

Because I have QUESTIONS.

I want to know WHY Sethraliss was chosen to live! And to be reborn.

I wanna know why Blizzard! You hear me? She’s apparently important enough for the Winter Queen to sacrifice other souls to save her’s! I’m biased towards Sethraliss but I also like Ursoc.

I need answers!

I suspect Sethrak will do about as well as Vulpera.

Blizzard will make money for sure. And make tons of people happy.

And by no means am I bashing Mechagnomes or Kul Tirans, saying this. I am happy for people who wanted them.

Just based on observing trends and statistics, Sethrak will be a popular choice.

I’d roll a Sethrak in a heartbeat. Mechagnomes aren’t my thing–now, I’m not putting down that community, nor will, but they’re definitely not my cup of tea.

As for Sethrak, though, they’re really neat and I think reptiles/snakes are both cool and adorable. I want to be a herpetologist at one point, maybe in my future if things ever get better. I think they’d fit well to bring diversity to the alliance roster, or even as a neutral race.

Maybe she was closer to rebirth than the others after being gone for so long, plus there could be more steps to it and the anima feeding is just the initial part.

Maybe she was in a grove that was more out of the way and the hunt just hadn’t reached her yet.

Maybe she was chosen to be kept alive because she had the better chance, perhaps being corrupted and killed meant Ursoc needed more TLC/time.

In the dungeon, it seems like the only thing preventing her rebirth is the interference of Zul’s goons, who were trying to corrupt her.

Oh that’s true, too.

Could be she’d been ready to return for a long time, maybe before the drought even depending on when Zul started his plans.
