Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread 🐍

It might come as a Stam buff or versatility buff too.

Scale armor based racials also works with our friends in the Saurok thread.

Scale armor for all!

Yes, they use poison in their weapons and claws. I’ve used pickpocket on several of them and some had a bottle of poison, which they said was used to bathe their claws in poison.

This totally reminds me. So a lot of venomous snakes have a resistance or immunity to a lot of venoms.

So Sethrak could get a racial that reduces incoming nature damage by like 1%. Or something along those lines.

Or they could get a buff to critical strike or guaranteed critical on the first so many attacks as well. Would be tied to either an infrared sense (rattlesnakes have this) or just their specialized sense of smell via their tongue.

They wouldn’t be bad racials, even though I preferred that sethraks could fire lightning as a racial skill.

And isn’t one of the mottos of the horde not “blood and thunder”?
It would make sethraks literally a race that would close the circuit while playing in the horde.

I don’t know if it would be too powerful but maybe they could have a racial that reduces the duration of debuffs on them, like Shed Skin or something. Maybe something like a 15% duration reduction.

Dark Irons can just remove buffs from themselves on a cooldown so I don’t think it’d be too overpowered to have something to that effect.

Yeah I really want this or a venom spit. But I could see a “call lightning” racial being potentially OP unless it has a large cool down.

Though maybe venom spit wouldn’t be too bad if it just applied cripple for a small amount of time. That is what Spitting Cobras use it for.

I like this idea too. Alternatively it could heal over a duration or remove disease and or poison, or even DoT to a degree.

Now how about a burrow racial? What would that do? I’m sure they have the capability. Their city is underground after all.

Mmm… Short range tp? Burrow through the ground and come up elsewhere.

Or!

Make it like camouflage. Burrow beneath the ground and heal at an excelerated rate. Dropping with any action or damage.

I love all of these ideas!
The other thing that gives me hope is the Alliance pvp mount that you can get. It’s a giant Krolusk, the creature most often seen with a Sethrak on top of it!!

The krolusk is the BFA pvp mount, the Horde get one as well.

The Warfronts can provide a Krolusk for both sides as well.

Oh, derp. Well, more evidence for Sethrak being neutral!

It’s still a good racial mount for the Sethrak.

I don’t think all the colors have been used yet. Also wouldn’t be hard to give one a quick recolor.

Or it could be done up kinda like the Caravan Hyena the Vulpera get. I think that would be really neat! Some banners and Sethrak themed tapestries on it. Whatchu think?

Krolusk could also be their Hunter starting pet.

And arguably the Bear/tank form for Druid. If they get Druid that is. (My DREAM of Dreams!)

I have doubts that Sethrak will get Druid. They feel like more the Mage/Warlock type of casters. Plus, I think the most unique druid forms we are going to get have already been done for Zandalari Trolls and Kul Tirans… That said, I’d still love to see Sethrak Druids.

If we did get Sethrak Druids, I’d see them using models closer to the Zandalari. Dinosaurs without the tusks, or something? It’d be weird to turn into Krolusks and such… That said, we do need more races that can be Druids.

I honestly do too. But a girl can dream. I can see Paladin more likely if it is The Devoted Sethrak we were to get. Perhaps their zealous worshipping of just one Loa could make it possible. We also do not know all of Sethraliss’ nature.

Man, I would like to know more about her. And well the Sethrak in general.

I’d expect to see

Warlock, Shaman, Priest and likely Mage.

Warrior. Hunter. Rogue.

Perhaps Monk.

While farming Throne of Thunder for Shadow Pan Assault rep, I had this neat polearm with an electric effect drop, which comes in three different transmog colors:

This is what one of the colors looks like:

And another:

With the lightning effect, it looks like something that would go well on a Sethrak character, so I wanted to share it. As I mentioned there are three colors, if I remember correctly, according to the appearance tab. I think but not 100% sure they all drop from Heroic Lei Shen in Throne of Thunder (10 or 25 again if I recall correctly, 25 player would give more loot chances of course.) Wowhead only has two of the colors but five search results. Kinda confusing. x- x

Wowhead does mention it has a chance of dropping on Hunter, Druid, or Monk characters, so farming it as those classes might be more likely for it to drop. I am unsure if the transmog is limited to those classes only.

Speaking of which, if you beat up Lei Shen on Heroic, you get this title:

Just wanted to share some stuff of interest if we ever get Sethrak playable. :snake:

Quoting myself here.

Took a look at the Krolusk mounts and there are 5 total unused colors/looks. SO. Any one of those could be thrown at the Sethrak as the racial mount they start with. I personally like the White one or Brown one.

Also revisited this. Found some information that stands out again

Where do the Sethrak come from?

  • The Trolls and Sethrak lived in harmony over 10k years ago. Sethraliss was the loa that represented this lush region of Zandalar.

  • The region fell when the Old Gods began their assault on the planet–this is one and the same with the Troll and Aqir War. Mythrax was charged to take this part of the world. Sethraliss stepped in and they battled.

  • When the region became a desert, the trolls left for more habitable regions. Sethrak thrived in the desert, so they stayed, living in holiest of holy grounds.

^ This last bullet tells me that it was definitely not just The Faithless who encouraged the desert environment.

And this little tid bit. Emphasis on the first sentence.

  • Allied Races are chosen for coolness, passion, excitement, and other factors. Animations are important, as player character animations have the most out of anything in the character database. KT males and females are brand new rings with some animations that are different than humans.

Also take a look at this AMAZING base! It reminded me so much of the Sethrak.
