Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread šŸ

I think Sethrak having the Heart of Azeroth animation is still promising for the future inclusion of them as a playable race.

Lately I have also seen a bit of an influx of people wanting the Sethrak animations for lightning cast, etc to be added to the Shaman class. This too might be a good thing. Especially if it does get added!

I remember back in the day seeing videos of Vulpera and Sethrak with the HoA animation Here is the Sethrak one:

May be the female Worgen animation, but it still looks neat.

Iā€™m not sure what the importance of HoA animations are nowadays though, since new races would join after the events of BfA, and eventually Blizzard may have Shadowlands be what newbie characters go into as more expansions come out. Of course, future race characters could always go back in time to BfA and go through the thing againā€¦or just get a quest you go to and skip the intro sequence.

Still, HoA animations are still an interesting thing to look at and research.

Letā€™s get some reptiles on that character creation screen! :snake: :crocodile: :turtle:

I canā€™t speak for the other two specs, but enhance is (FINALY) getting back baseline lightning shield in Shadowlands, and getting back chain lightning. That means we have 6 lightning abilities baseline.

Only makes me want a sethrak shaman more.

I would be happy if I could be a Tuskar

I would have to admit that Sethrak would make me switch to the horde

That they got it when they did makes me think the ground work was being done. Either they decided against it for bfa or they were just prepping for later. At least that is my thought.

Initially I wanted to roll a sethrak hunter, but as time has gone on, shaman seems more and more appealing. Iā€™ve always enjoyed its playstyle, even at the low points of the classā€™s history.

Itā€™s kind of funny to me how sethrak almost feel like a very aggressive address to requests worgen players have made over the years. Sethrak have huge tails, they stand totally upright, and, if they were playable, theyā€™d at the very least have access to the shaman class, and probably monk too. Itā€™s telling how many posters in this thread have been worgen!

(I know itā€™s a very shallow comparison, Iā€™m not being all that serious.)

Iā€™ll make a Sethrak shaman in a heartbeat. And I agree, I could see monk as a possibility for them as well.

Iā€™d love them to have Druid and Paladin as an option. Something about a Sethrak Paladin is really cool to me! And with the way they are devoted to Sethraliss, I could see Paladin being possible. I also see Druid a possibility as well as it seems Sethraliss has some sort of tie to life and growth. At least that is the conclusion I have drawn with the withering of Volā€™dun from jungle to desert with her death. And just the general symbolism of snakes as a whole.

Iā€™m going with a priest for mine. Canā€™t wait.

Yes!!!

It would feel so right. Iā€™d maybe consider making my priest into one in the end.

A sethrak paladin would make sense, since sethraks can be defined as a monotheistic society, as opposed to the zandalars who are polytheists.

And a sethrak shaman / paladin firing lightning bolts and using a hammer makes a lot of sense in my mind.
Even monks can throw lightning bolts, so it would be perfect.

I am all over this being something Sethrak shout when they cast. I totally want my Sethrak to yell this in combat.

Please Blizzard! I want to smite people as a snakey zealot, in the name of Sethraliss and the Horde/Alliance!

Few things convey as much power and aggression as lightning.
Few things make the hatred your opponent has for your existence so clear, and how much he wants you to disappear, than to be struck by lightning.

See Thor, X-Men Storm and Uchiha Sasuke from Naruto. :zap:

Feeling a bit like I should make a shaman nowā€¦ Lol

Iā€™m hopeful that blizzard hears us. Including a former Sethrak in SLs shows they at least remember the Sethrak still.

It seems Emeni has a few friends we get to encounter: Commander Revok, Fangcaller Srillik the Twelfth, and Skycaller Jorthok.

Currently, none of the three are objectives of any quest, but judging by their titles, Iā€™m going to assume weā€™ll end up killing them for some reason or another.

Does anyone know where they show up in Shadowlands?

Itā€™s all an incredibly bit role, but it keeps sethrak present in the world, and that makes me pretty darn happy.

I think this is an awesome idea and should become a thing.

Now, this is interesting and confirming what we already suspected that weā€™ll learn of Emeniā€™s life. I see this as a great win and canā€™t wait to learn more. I already planned to take Maldraxxus on my death knight main before I learned about Emeni but now Iā€™ll take her as my soulbind for sure.
Very hyped about shadowlands and that the sethrak are at least not forgotten.

This is amazing! And at the very least possibly promising.

Not to mention it is sounding like we may get to learn more about Sethrak lore at the very least.

Iā€™m definitely going Maldraxxus on one of my toons now and taking Emeni as my soulbind.

Completely agree.

Thereā€™s also quite a few nameless sethrak being added as well. I canā€™t post links, but if you search for ā€œsethrakā€ NPCs added in patch => 9.0.1 youā€™ll find 7 results.

None of them have any known location. Iā€™m guessing theyā€™re all tied to Emeni in some way, but whether or not they are, I wonder what theyā€™ll be used forā€¦

This was also true for the 8.3 PTR. I think 2 or 3 new Sethrak files. But no known location.

Iā€™m speculating here but I wonder if this will all tie more into the Faithless.

And maybe before Vorrik, Korthek, Serrik and Sulthis were around, Sethrak as a society were more like the Faithless.

For all we know The Devoted were the smaller sect that branched off from the rest. :woman_shrugging:
