That being said, I can’t see them being a Horde-only race. There’s no reason for them to just suddenly decide to be “at war” (or at least unfriendly) with a faction that went out of their way to help them despite being in enemy territory.

War seems not to be a thing anymore. Only a gameplay mechanic.
Unless they want to beat the faction war dead horse again.

I really do hope it turns out that two of those new AR’s are actually surprise launch races, based in BfA.

Not gonna hold my breath but I will remain hopeful.

It really doesn’t make sense for them to put all this effort into revamping the entire leveling experience and not give us more races to level. Like, I already have one of every class at 120, why would I go through that again without something new and exciting to do it with?

Not going to lie, I have my doubts.

Blizzard likely sees the AR’s as a feature of BfA, but they do want the system in place going forward, but they’ve said that they don’t see AR’s at launch and that we shouldn’t expect them for awhile.

Yet in the first Alpha build we find some evidence to support them?

WoW is in flux, the game devs are changing course on many things it seems.

But until I see it I’m not going to put all my hope on it.

Either way the prospect of what they datamined is exciting. Though I am prepared to be terribly disappointed.

I’ve gotten to the point that I’ll probably cry it Sethrak are added or if they aren’t. Obviously for different reasons, lol!

I know how you feel.

I know as far as available races go they’re a long shot for alliance, and horde they’re not exactly looking like they’re high on the list, but I’m so invested in the characters I’ve already come up with…

If they are announced I’ll be over the moon.
If they’re passed over I’ll very much be disappointed.

Still, I’m not giving up on pushing for them.

I need my snek.

So I came up with a story for Hershey last night! Thought it made a good memory to his real life namesake. (namesnake?)

After being a regular old snake on Azeroth that dreams of something more and meeting an untimely death. He is reincarnated as a Sethrak with the help of the Night Fae and Ardenweald. And Sethraliss.

Silly I know, but I made it relevant to Shadowlands and it seems a fitting way to continue to honor and remember him.

I was doing some thinking on the AR stuff that was datamined.

It says there are already existing AR crests tied to each covenant.

I think it was:
Mag Orcs - Maldraxxus/Necrolords
Velfs - Bastion/Kyrian
Z trolls - Ardenweald/Nightfae
DI Dwarves- Revendreth/Vampires

Now let’s say this isn’t that we’re getting the covenant races AS AR. But those are the two factions/races associated with recruiting the next ARs.

So…

Nighfae and Zandalari recruit Sethrak. Thematically aligned.

Mag Orcs and Maldraxxus recruit Saberon or Mogu. Thematically aligned. Leaning more towards Saberon on this one because they’re more aligned with BOTH Mag Orcs and Maldraxxus.

Velf and Kyrian > ??

DI and Vamps - ??

And to finish this up. Let Sethrak be playable!

Mag Orcs and Maldraxxus recruit Saberon

Part of the problem with this, from my understanding, is that the Laughing Skull Clan, part of the Mag’Har Orcs, hunted the Saberon to get their hearts. It’s a reason I don’t see them recruiting Saberon and also one of the reasons I don’t really see Saberon as a Horde race.

So Sethraliss is still technically dead right? We only have the Avatar of her with us. If Ardenweald is where the dead loa go to revive then maybe we could see Sethraliss there?

Or maybe she has a hold in both realms at the moment? Like one foot in the door of the living, and one still in Ardenweald.

Could maybe supply support and information this way.

I hope the Sethrak and Sethraliss are involved in the expansion somewhere. Say even if they’re not playable, I still think learning more on their lore would be great! And that they could have great connections to the Shadowlands.

Though …I still want them playable!

Guess what. Slots have been abolished. You guys no longer need to worry"Well does this race make sense for a worgen AR or not?" I am so glad slots have been abolished. It caused so much animosity between communities. This is good news for all AR communities.
