Unofficial Sethrak Discussion Thread šŸ

There is indeed a Horde Ogre megathread located here:

As far as Vrykul, Iā€™m personally unsure if there ever was a Vrykul megathread. You might want to search to see if someone ever made one, as Iā€™ve never personally seen a Vrykul megathread.

Getting back to Sethrak, itā€™s good to see this megathread still active. Iā€™m still interested in making a Sethrak if they ever became playable. Iā€™m also still leaning towards making a male Sethrak Shadow Priest if they did become playable, as I feel like the Priest class is a likely option for them.

thats a big lie tough, there are more people from alliance saying vrykuls would hate the humans, and there is few, few people whow ant then on horde.

i did a vrykul+ogre megathread before, and was buried because t have no support besides the ogre ones.

Bump it up then, this isnā€™t a Vrykul thread~

Good luck!

oooh, okay. gotcha. I suppose i could see that, but crocolisk/basilisks are longer and less stout than the bear/anklyosaur. With the exception of zandalari moonkin, all forms have used the traditional skelemanz for their respective forms. Bear and Cat forms, especially, would need their basic skeletons for animations to be copied over neatly.

I feel a krolusk could be modified to fit a bear skeleton more easily than a croc, but iā€™d gladly take whatever forms they want as long as any amount of effort and thought goes into them.

But itā€™s no use asking seriously for Vrykuls, when I already fear, their round version, Kultirans, added to the game.

It seems difficult for Blizzard to do something about vrykul for the alliance, but it wasnā€™t hard to invent silvermoonā€™s 40 blood elves, paint them all purple and make them forget their hatred to ally.

Like the kul tiran druids have dead seaweed and skull motifs for their forms the sethrak could focus on chitinous heads and bits mixed with sand and lightning between the harder bits.

They donā€™t have to be actual animals in their forms like the kul tiran arenā€™t.

when there is no support, and alliance is putting their effort in other lost causes, its difficult

Alliance asking for anything is a lost cause from the start :man_shrugging:t4:

We might as well ask for something more interesting than tall humans.

Iā€™d be all about some Sethrak druids, my primary alt is a night elf druid and I need something to race change her to. I already have a worgen and Kulā€™tirans do nothing for me.

Those winged serpents, similar to sethe, could be the flying forms, and the other forms could be a version of those used by the zandalars.

Yep, Blizz canā€™t even think about another horde druid race until they balance us out, Sethrak work the best for it.

Since the only rule KT forms seem to follow is having a fleshy body the Sethrak could do that too, for sureā€¦ maybe it could be an example of what happens when a race tries to ā€œforceā€ druidismā€¦ sort of Frankenstein monster of sand and bone/chitin animated by lightning.

if they indeed only ask for the lost causes its a give in right?

few ask for not lost causes, and sadly they do not get support

Yeah the KT forms make me think of Wendigos. As in the traditional ones. Not the Wendigo in WoW.

They could definitely stray from the norm/classic forms for Sethrak as well. Fleshy, sand and lightning beasts could be cool as well.

Or to be ā€œsimpleā€, make most of the forms based on other reptiles. Ie: Tank/Bear = Turtle, Cat= Lizard. And so on and so forth.

Make them a neutral race like the Pandaā€™s are and let the player choose which faction to join. I think the game needs more Neutral (Ally) Races anywayā€¦

No! All or nothing!

Just kidding. Iā€™d take it either way.

I would vote no on this cause Iā€™m hoping Vulpera get it in their bag of tricks. Lol.

I think itā€™s safe to retire this thread.

Vulpera and Mechagnomes are the last round of Allied Races in BFA with no confirmation theyā€™re continuing the feature outside of BFA, as their team moves to focus on existing race customization.

Sethrak have an NPC model with several skin tones and zero customization outside of that, as compared to vulpera who were out of the gate with multiple ear, snout, fur color, and fur pattern options.

Their clothing is baked-in NPC-only armor with texture mapping for existing armor models.

Lorewise, thereā€™s no real reason for them to join one faction over the other, but if they did, it would be the Horde due to the aid offered by the Horde player and the Vulpera (who are now Horde-aligned).

Itā€™s going to great when they join the alliance isnā€™t it?

I wish I could enjoy your level of delusion. It might be fun to live in Cotton Candy Land instead of this dreary ā€œreal lifeā€ nonsense.

So what should we suggest as possible allied race?
Cockroaches?

Will Worgen, Night Elves, forsaken and Pandarens be the only races to see nothing related to allied races?

Although it is not possible for sethraks to come to the alliance, because the lore that made blood elves be painted purple to come to ally cannot be applied to sethraks on ally, it would be a waste if they didnā€™t go to the horde at least, so that they can be a playable race.

And we havenā€™t seen the blizzard yet say there will be no sethrak.
So until the end of BfA, I do not plan to discard sethrak from the realm of possibilities.

Most likely, yes.

Night Elves had their Allied Race passed off to Horde (Nightborne) an belves had theirs passed off to Alliance (Void Elves).

Worgen could have the original night elf worgen as their Allied Race but the story opportunity to get the night elf worgen to join up against the Horde has come and gone with BFA.

Similarly, it has come and gone with Forsaken as the Sanā€™layn leaders that assisted the Horde are gone, the valā€™kyr follow Sylvanas (so no new undead to be raised), and thereā€™s no insinuation that more Light-undead like Calia are going to happen.

Pandaren sit on the fence and the devs said they donā€™t want to repeat that, and I highly doubt theyā€™d bring 1 race to each faction on behalf of the pandaren.

IMO, playable sethrak sit in the same realm as Tortollans, Hozen, Jinyu, Mantid, etc. NPC-only race with monogendered appearance.
