While I’d much rather have Saberon over all other races, I would likely make a Turskarr hunter, tame a couple ottuk pets, leveling him to cap and then only ever take him places to do fishing quests/objects/achievs and that’s it. Heck, I’d even consider boosting him with one of my two expansion boosts I haven’t used yet, lol.

While going through MoP Remix, I saw a Tuskarr as a daily quest giver near Nat Pagle:
Since this was during MoP, they’re likely from Northrend. Another example of Tuskarr being able to survive climates outside of Northrend!

The amount of people who’d honestly play a Tuskarr has to be minuscule it would just be a waste of resources there are so many cooler races like Furbolg, Murloc, Gnolls and Wolvar that would be way better additions over Tuskarr, I’d only be okay with Tuskarr if pretty much every other old beast race was also becoming playable.
I disagree with your assessment of where the general player base would place their focus.
But to each their own.

Naga enthusiasts remember their allies.
I remember the first time I saw Tuskarr while doing the wc3 campaign. Just one model if I recall. Didn’t think much of them. Their presence in WotLK was quite nostalgic, and I liked the music associated with them.
Poor Tuskarr don’t get enough love.

With TLT expansion coming soon, Tuskarr have the best chances to become a neutral race in this expansion. Maybe we will get some other opportunities to get them as playable race later but TLT is perfect to introduce them with their own playable race.
