Sethrak for the players!
Here’s hoping!
Sethrak for the players!
Here’s hoping!
Crossing fingers for Sethrak news!
Also crossing my fingers for Sethrak news!
However I am sad, as I will be at a doctor’s appointment when the announcement airs.
As always, playable Sethrak please! And if we don’t get any news, keep up the good fight for Sethrak and other races and good changes you want to see!
WoW: Dragonflight is now officially a thing. You can see the official website here (my computer’s CPU percentage goes up going to this website, so please keep that in mind before you click the link that it could do that to yours as well and slow it down):
Of note is the new Dracthyr race, which can shapeshift to a humanoid form (appears to just be one type of humanoid race currently) which can only be the new Evoker class:
So we kinda have our first playable reptilian race. Despite that, I’m hoping that Sethrak fans aren’t discouraged at all.
As I stated in my Saurok megathread, there is a big difference between dragons and other reptilian races. Moreso with Dracthyr having a humanoid form. I see no reason why Dracthyr would bar any other reptilian races from ever becoming playable, and hopefully they wouldn’t be treated as the definitive reptilian races.
I mean, Night Elves didn’t stop Blood Elves from being playable, and both are completely different in many ways. I’d expect the same with Sethrak and Saurok. Besides, I’ve advocated having multiple reptiles on that character creation screen, and I still stand by it. After all, we have multiple flavors of elf, dwarf, human, and such. I see no reason why lizard and snake people would be completely barred as a result.
As such, I still hope Sethrak fans continue to support them as a playable race. I still stand with y’all and I’m also going forward with my playable Saurok support. I don’t see Dracthyr affecting either of their chances, and while I expect there to suddenly be “we already have a reptile race!” comments occasionally, it’ll just be a silly argument in the grand scheme of things. Best to not let that get to you.
Besides, as you’ve seen from my posts here, I advocate for multiple reptilian races. We got one so far, so let’s see if we can get more on there!
As always, lets continue to try and get some more reptiles on that character creation screen!
right on man, sethrak and saurok and whatnot can be added too I hope someday (soon maybe lol)
chrisp/gotnov
it’s really not dead.
Basically Sethrak but more interesting.
i won’t argue with your opinion. it’s a valid view.
We don’t have Sethrak so no its not.
Dracothyr aren’t what I’m interested in.
So I disagree.
The Dracothyr are not Sethrak, nor do they come close to the story or lore we like.
So yeah. I agree it would be a very silly argument to make.
On par with, we can’t have anymore mammalian races cause we have one.
Sethrak for the players!
Saurok for the Horde!
Tortollan for everyone!
Another thing I wanted to note is that the Dracthyr are only able to be one class. Granted, it has two specs, but I would say they would still be very unique when it comes to Sethrak and Saurok, who would be able to be multiple classes. Not to mention all three would have different themes, cultures, personalities, and such to bring in some unique flavor to the game.
I might have been a bit more concerned that Dracthyr would be treated as the definitive reptilian race if they were able to be multiple classes, and at the moment I still worry about it being a compromise to Sethrak and Saurok, but I still feel that there is a chance for all three. People have different tastes and all three of them bring unique stuff to the table.
Some people like Wood Elves, some like High Elves, some like Dark Elves, and some are a fan of Half Elves. I don’t see why the same can’t be applied to reptilian races, and I think the more variety we have, the better.
Also, I don’t see this being a dead thread at all. Sethrak fans have been one of the most passionate fanbases I’ve seen since I came to the forums when BfA was announced. I don’t think they’re going to quit anytime soon, and I hope they continue onward.
Let’s get some more reptiles on that character creation screen!
I’ll never stop asking for the races I want to see until I either quit wow or I get the races I’m looking for.
No one should expect less.
This.
Locking them to one class while I get the reasoning is possibly the dumbest move I could think of for them imo.
People don’t like having demon hunters locked to two races… why would anyone like ALL of the dragons being locked to ONE race/class combination.
I hope draconid fans enjoy it, but if I were more into it I’d be kinda mad about it honestly.
I actually have a few dragon based characters in rp and I can’t even race change them into this new race/class because of how its limited.
Interesting.
Hard to see here but this is I think part of the Brozne Flights area in one of the zones…
Zoom in near the bottom of those stairs.
Could be a Sethrak.
If anything the Dracthyr are a good stepping stone for future reptilian races. They are far more complex than the Sethrak and arguably more complex than the Saurok.
What I saw that was encouraging is the Dracthyr women do not have breasts.
Keeping showing interest, they are still listening.
I think I’m done with WoW. All the mega threads for ARs and they announce another hero class no one wanted. All they had to do was make more race / class options available, release a handful of ARs people have been begging for, and revamp the existing zones in Azeroth.
I agree that would have been ideal and I understand your frustration very well.
I’m going to give this one a chance to surprise me, and maybe just maybe its going to better setup some races that folk have been requesting.

It’s just another dragon variant.
Darn!
… Still hoping they link them to Sethrak from an ancient time or something though.
Always potential for them to add others down the line, I never expected them to go all out on this new race for Dragonflight.
It’s a shame, I have the impression that this extension eliminates the potential allied races requested…
Eh we don’t really have anything to make us think that.
They came up with what they see as a neat idea and implemented it in Dracothyr.
It seems like they’re bringing some other races forwards that people have interest in… tuskarr particularly as they brought them up directly and added a female model.
I think there is a high chance that more AR’s could still occur. We just have to wait.
I wont give up until the devs literally say they’re never doing them again… actually scratch that. I wont stop until they’re in the game or I quit the game.
