I like the idea of ethereals, but unfortunately they lack features for me to give full support. What they could bring is what void elves already bring as well.
If anyone has concept art of what their customizations can be besides the gear they wear, I am, open to change my mind on this.
I personally disagree.
Void Elves are predominantly Void, and Ethereals are predominantly Arcane.
Their general aesthetics are very different as well.
I donât have any concept art, but the ideas I listed in OP donât involve gear.
Changing your soul/energy color, wrap style/color, jewelry.
Itâs not much, but I think what would be available is cool enough.
They have an etheral connection, and it is one of the reason why they made void elves.
Disappointing. I would hope some conecpts on apperances would be done. Just changing the energy colors isnât enough in my opinion to add them. That being said Iâm not opposed, but there needs to be more substance for them to be added.
Different wrappings, different designs of armored components, different energy colorations.
Faces can even be done with different wrappings around the head. Locus-Walker for instance I think has a different setup than some of the regular kind.
There is a lot one can do with some imagination.

I kinda doubt the connection is that important to Void Elves. Theyâre connected to one single ethereal. A void one at that.
Plenty of room I think for other ethereals as their own AR. Plus for me all that is needed is that there are folk interested in them⊠Though I also want them pretty bad nowadaysâŠ

That is a work in progress for sure. However the gap is decreasing greatly from the current patches example.
The reference is in the racials. They have a connection with other etherals, though more lore would be welcome on that for sure.
Have any idea what the wrappings could look like? The armored components would be kinda moot due to gear unless they do the way with mecha gnomes, but that was not well received, as such I will assume the gear portions will be interchanged with loot. Energy colorations wonât be enough and I look at it like skin colors. There needs to be more to customize.

But thats not much of anything. Their real ethereal connection is through Locus-Walker and its still not the Void Elves themselves.
We see no other interaction between Void Elves and Ethereals. Its not enough in my opinion to knock a race out of the running.
Different colorations, designs of the wrappings. Loose or tight.
The way their face is wrapped can define personality and such as you see on other races with their faces.
Entirely uncovered arms with minimal wrappings.
And thats just off the top of my head at random.

The wrappings exist so they can have form and donât dissapate, if they have uncovered arms they would not be able to interact with objects.
Doesnât matter, Iâm here to gather info to decide to support or not. Atm Iâm leaning not due to lack of customization.
As an Egyptian myself, I would love this race, or Brokers, but customization is an issue.
Being honest there is a serious lack of middle eastern themes via playable races in game. I personally would like to see what blizz can come up with on that.
But even looking at it all it indicates is they have a connection with them through Locus-Walker its still not a part of a Void Elf. Just a benefit from friends.

In the OP I believe there are several Hearthstone Cards that show a nice variety of such. Could be really neat.
Iâd imagine they need a decent amount of wrapping to prevent too much of their essence from leaking out. too many large holes and they can âbleedâ out if you know what I mean. If they need very little I think the OG art of ethereals would had shown that.
Itâs not a knock out of being an AR, I am just mentioning they made void elves because ethereals is too difficult to implement in a mmorpg setting due to lack of customization. This is also supported by the heritage gear they have resembling ethereal gear.

I donât really see how that one racial suggests it and I donât see any connection to the Heritage armor myself.

Never said they were, though Blizz seems to see em as the path to give High Elves now. Given that they continue to add high elf options over void ones.
What sort of things are you looking for to see them as viable?
Compared to HMT alone the basic formats weâve just suggested are not a small number.
Couple that with âjewelryâ elements for the armored bits you could get quite a robust amount of customization.

There is 0 indications or announcements of this kind, nor is that a counter arguement to the above. This statement is nothing but a snide remark.
The only thing I could think of they could add is fancier strapping, but with the nature of how they currently are, it quiestions on if they are willing to die to look good.
Does not seem like that to me, hmt would have more then etherals on customization that would work with their lore.

I think Ethereals can and would have a great deal of customization with what weâve already talked about and it would be well within the lore we currently have.
Most every option I go for has some semblance of lore involved.

I donât personally agree with the mummy masks because that isnât really what they represent, so Iâd rather that not be part of their customization.
Masks from content in an expansion however Iâm fine with.
Iâm not super into those particular masks myself, but masks in general seems like a great idea to me.
