After reading the ptr section of forums i m getting demoralized about the tuning being bad .
Yeah, Ion says he respects player time but my 380+ Horseman kills says otherwise.
I did 8000+ attempts on the sha of anger, i got it but its a recolor, also it doesn’t show any skill at all. its just luck or gold.
i don’t think Devs checked on wowhead comments for some mounts or the general forums every halloween, love event… people farm those with 40-50+ characters, the game does’t have a good design for a player that only uses 1-2 characters and want to collect some items, mounts.
Honestly with the seasonal mounts, instead of having it be based on just a random drop chance, make it work like darkmoon prize tickets, let people save up the things they need and allow for more than one dungeon run per day per toon, add in all the cosmetic options for mogs and stuff too, to a dedicated ‘tokens’ vendor for that holiday so that they still have reasons to do the event/dungeon, hell, that would also make it easy to add new things in every year as they wouldn’t have to adjust or change drop tables or the like, they could just, add it to that vendor
I wonder if they’ll innovate on those seasonal events, the only good thing on those are really bad drops below 1%. the cosmetics for transmog can only be used during the seasonal event if you want to use those witch hats on january not you can’t… bring world quest to the whole world for those events instead of picking only candy at inkeepers.
The Devs philosophy behind rewards is killing the game too, compared to other MMORPGS, i tried some and i got mounts for a seasonal event after a questline with boss fights…etc , i got impress for the reward system that engage new player on other games.
Even Overwatch got skins every seasonal event (also because OW has another kind of business model) but WoW every 2-3 years got a new toy and that’s all.
The black chocobo and polar bear mounts are quite nice, as well as the black car
It’d be more okay if we weren’t so ‘capped’ on doing things to 1/day or 1/week, or 1/year for things (1/year being the candy buckets bit of Hollow’s End), especially, for seasonal events. A time which people WANT TO DO THE EVENT STUFF! Why hard time gate it in the maner it is, that just…disinsentivizes people from doing the event stuff to begin with, especially with all the random crap it floods your inventory with that you then have to delete, many times by manually typing ‘yes I want to delete this thing’ or, where you have to have item x in your inventory otherwise, that’s all that’ll drop the next time (looking at you pumpkin head hat)
Also: yeah, the ‘only during holiday time’ mogs need to go the way of the dodo. If I wanna dress up as a brewmaiden in spring, why shouldn’t I be able too? Or be a DK with a pumpkin head at all times and play it as ‘all of the bits and bobs of my head are in here but…not necessarily in one piece’ kinda deal
I got that car and polar bear on a free trial account…free trial account… the free version of WoW doesn´t show too many intersting things for people to engage on the game. At this point the game needs a 180 degree change or it´ll continue bleeding players each expansion.
It was a pet reward for the entire guild if one group finished the challenge. Not the same thing.
And guess what? Fun and accomplishment is having challenge appearances they earned through having fun and accomplishing their goal.
Rhielle, i don´t get your point Humanbeak is right it was an unobtainable item, since it was removed, now it can be obtainable with gold.
The thing is that as you mention is was base on one group finishing the challenge, and these should be earned throug having fun as you mention, so why Blizzard designed Challenge mode and then discard the whole thing? Because we got a game that every expansion bring borrow systems and gameplay, now if they bring this pet for TW MoP challenge mode and they create a version of challenge mode like Mage Tower, that no matter the expansion, you can still play and get it. that’ll be really great.
So, what of the players going forward that are just joining and were to young to play during those expacs? Should they not have the option to get the things that they see during leveling through an expansion pack other than B4A because ‘you weren’t there back in 20xx’ cause, there’s content that’s no longer doable/obtainable from expacs starting with 2008 and the launch of WotLK when Nax was moved (hell, might even be some from OG vanilla from when BC dropped for all I know) And don’t get me started on OG Classic stuff getting purged with the launch of Cata. To put it into perspective: There are people working jobs now, that were still in diapers when content started going FOMO in the game.
I can’t follow half of what you’re saying, I’m sorry. I feel like English may not be your first language? Not at all judging, I just can’t seem to understand your writing.
My point is that this item wasn’t for just the five people who did the challenge. It was a pet that everyone in the guild could buy. They didn’t have to do the challenge. They could just outright buy it.
I’m a firm believer in Elite PvP and limited time CM PvE gear cosmetics staying limited time.
A pet everyone in the guild could buy isn’t the same thing.
They’ve got hundreds upon hundreds of other transmogs.
Limited time is part of life. Deal with it.
Because litimed time is part of life, so many things on a game shouldn´t feel the same, like the awful rng drops or some gameplay that should be designeed as evergreen systems.
There isn’t “so many.” There are three Challenge modes. There are hundreds of transmogs.
Accomplishment on a time limit should be rewarded and respected.
I don’t have any of those transmogs. I really wanted them. But I absolutely respect those that got them and won’t disrespect them or their time to be selfish. I’ve got lots of other mogs.
I think people need to stop being selfish and demanding to have everything everyone else does and act like mature adults.
And that’s all I’m saying on this topic. I’m done and muting it.
I’m honestly sick of the ‘well, I have it and you shouldn’t’ type arguments. This is, first and foremost, a game, and your fun in this game, shouldn’t come at the expense of other peoples ABILITY to have fun in a game. Yes, pvp exists, but, that doesn’t change peoples ABILITY to have fun, just that their fun may be more difficult depending on the match up, not currently impossible with the FOMO/Removed stuff
And it’s not just t-mogs that are removed (not to mention some of the mogs have no equivilent like the Dragon Backpack from Visions, or the Legendary Cloak from MoP) but also story content (Legendary lines from both MoP and WoD were the ‘tie up’ for the entire expac) and content access (Ordos in Timeless can only be accessed by completion of the MoP legendary cloak line) Not to mention that Legion artifacts blatantly showcase ‘hey, see this entire chunk of options, you can never, get it, and we’re going to show you it exists, but, since you weren’t around then f-you!’
Limited Time is fine with some things, but, I don’t think Limited Time should be a factor in playing a game. Imagine, if you will, playing say…Pokemon right, you played it back in 2000, and some one else tried playing it in 2020, only for the game to tell them ‘oh, sorry, since you weren’t around in 2000, you can’t fight the elite four’ or ‘oh, you like Charizard, whelp, you’ll never be able to have him since you didn’t play back then’ it is arbitrary, asinine, and honestly, the only purpose it serves is for people to ‘show off’ to others and gatekeep
Oh noes somebody gonna get your items
There are literally hundreds of event pokemon that you can’t get anymore. Some never were even available outside of Japan, mostly given away in a tiny space of time. Really bad example to make your argument.
Can you sell it or is it soulbound?
And considering those pokemon can be bought and traded where as mogs or unlocks can’t it could be argued that it’s a prime example of another difference in that the gatekeeping fomo people constantly defend is even more blatantly arbitrary in WoW
