Yea, I definitely got lit up anywhere I suggested the opt in. I don’t take things personally, though. At least we’re all passionate about wanting the game to succeed and be fun (whatever that means to each of us)
I got called anti-zombie for not wanting player zombies to be able to one shot everyone lower than 50. Light forbid anyone should want players of all levels to have fun in the “improved leveling experience” expansion.
I guess I cannot blame people for being defensive at this point. Still, I wish we could all have a conversation without assuming the worst in eachother.
Well, I don’t know how improved the leveling experience is currently. The nerfed leveling in the beta at the moment, and you have difficulty even hitting max level doing all of the side quests, main quests and dungeons now. I think they tried balancing it around Alliance wm on and destroyed it for everyone else. Hopefully it gets fixed before launch.
This is what I’ve been wondering too. I couldn’t find anything on the blue tracker here, nothing on mmo-champ and nothing on wowhead. It’s like someone said it was happening and everyone just accepted it as true.
Honestly it literally could’ve just been so people could complete the quests. It was super hard to do anything. And super laggy depending on your PC as well since PTR itself is laggy anyways. It could just be so they can test feedback on core things like the quests.
It’s this attitude that makes the game boring. There are other cities unaffected in which those who don’t want to bother with it can go to but they won’t.
They’ll just complain instead. Happened before, about the pvp servers, kiting bosses into cities, etc… will happen again.
Events like this can bring new people, breathe new life into this game.
Makes it exciting even.
I was referring to the 10 to 50 leveling revamp. I know leveling on beta from 50 to 60 is a hot mess right now (and is, in fact, one of my major concerns since you’d think the amount of XP needed to hit 60, versus the XP available from quests, would be a problem they could solve with a spreadsheet rather than needing multiple posts of people running out of quests at level 57.5).
I’d be okay with this.
OK then don’t have ANY pre-patch quests in main cities then.
Also “Events like this can bring new people, breathe new life into this game.
Makes it exciting even.”
Fun eliminated
If you don’t like the current event, you can just take the advice that you were giving us about the event. If you don’t like it just don’t log in. that’s what you told us to do when we asked for an opt in.
Who is this ‘you’ you are referring to? I feel like you are lumping us in as one big group who all believe the same thing. I am an individual with my own opinions, and I never told anyone not to log in or to just suck it up.

Considering that the most liked reply in the largest thread asking for an optout is said “No, Go hide in your garrison” I’m kind of inclined to agree that this was the popular opinion.
If you wanna see it yourself, top reply to this thread
There need to be some very minor restrictions on the Plague Event. From reports, there are few places you can go (aside from offline) if you don’t want to interact with this. In addition, this thing is getting game-crashing levels of stupid, and however much ~wacky chaos~ you want to introduce to the world, annihilating the game client is a no-go. So, solutions then: There should be some manner of questline or toggle (more ideally) to indicate ‘Yes! I want to fight on the front lines of the Zo…
It’s easy to feel scorned after that, I dont blame people for not being sympathetic after the nerf. Especially when you all are now asking for the exact same thing.
boo. i dont like those solutions.
i want to have fun man… its a invasion ffs.
let us spread the plague…
Yep, that’s pretty much what this was about. Controlling others at all costs.

No, you didn’t. You also gave some good options in your initial post.
Thing is, some are going to want what they want regardless. It’s a control thing.
I have a question. What makes anyone think it’s because of complaints that they’re nerfing the prepatch?
It was on the ptr so could it actually be nerfed because it’s too much stress on the game?
Sure. Don’t log in for the duration. And stop paying for gametime, since forumgoers were adamant that they would track down everyone who was trying to avoid participating and spread the plague to them. They said it wouldn’t be fun if they couldn’t force it on people who didn’t want to participate.
we all know this absolutely didn’t happen.
the threads are still there lol
not logging in is an option, if it’s disturbing.
not being in impacted areas is an option.
not forcing your playstyle on others, is also an option.
…especially when it comes to such a limited time event.
the point of stuff like this, is shaking things up… not “ho hum, another boring day”
a lot of players who left because there was nothing to do, had resubbed just to participate
So it was only going to happen inside the capital city auction houses and everywhere else was safe? Do you expect us to believe this, or do you really think that absolutely no one plays the game?
the further zombies were able to make it out of the cities, the more chance they’d have of being cleansed/killed.
outside of a testing environment where PLAYERS WERE ASKED TO PUSH THE BOUNDARIES, it’s unlikely it would travel very far.
Yep, people gotta complain about an event that happens for two weeks IF even THAT and it occurs in waves. Great.
Assuming is silly. You don’t know what I thought of this before.
