Recently, I wanted to acquire and level a Mechagnome. From what I understand and what I read, You could do the Mechagon questline from a horde character, then unlock the Mechagnome questline from your Alliance character. I earned the achievement (The Mechagonian Threat) as required, met the requirements given by the Mechagnome recruitment flag at the Stormwind Embassy and still can’t seem to retrieve the quest. So I moved forward from trying to collect it from the Embassy and worked on getting to Mechagon on a level 60 Alliance Character (Given from Wowhead that I can receive it from the prince). I quested through Nazjatar, Met Gilla Crosswires and headed to Mechagon. Now that I have reached Mechagon, the quest (Urgent Care) is still no where to be found. Am I required to do the questline, again, considering I already done it once, but on a Horde character? Or am I missing a key detail to starting this quest? I would like a clear answer and not a generic copy pasta and link to Wowhead. Thanks in advance for any assistance or guidance I can receive.
You will need to do the opening quest chain (up through opening up the dailies) on Mechagon Island on your Alliance character.
I did all the quests, dungeons, achievements, and rep during BFA for Mechagon Island on this Horde character.
My Alliance Hunter then had to unlock Mechagon Island up through the dailies opening up.
After that was done, my Alliance Hunter did the recruitment quests from the Embassy. Then I could make a Mechagnome.
Blizzard post:
Just to get it out of the way, had you started another race quest and didn’t finish it? If so, you can’t have two of this kind of quest active at once.
Not to mention you cannot abandon one chain to try and start another. You have to finish any that are started before being able to go for the next allied race.
No i haven’t. I got the questline for Dark Iron Dwarves (Which i do not meet the requirements for by the way). I finished that thinking maybe that was my ticket for Mechagnomes, but was given the dwarves instead lol. i finished that questline and have been researching my issues since.
I’ll try your method. I’m not sure how up to date this article is as I had to get my Heart of Azeroth, go through Nazjatar and then get the quest to Mechagon before i could access Mechagon. I’ll try questing through a little bit and see if that helps. Thanks for the reply.
Yes, having the Heart of Azeroth and Nazjatar world quests unlocked would be prerequisites for moving on to Mechagon.
Edited to add: You left off with this quest in the Mechagon chain:
I think Kyzera is leading you down the right path, it does look like you need “The Resistance Needs You” next.
Generally speaking, if you didn’t qualify to unlock the Dark Iron Dwarves, you wouldn’t be able to pick up the quest.
For the Dark Iron Dwarves you basically just need to complete the Ready for War achievement and it does look like you have credit for it. I was under the impression you needed to do it on the Alliance side but it might be account wide for this.
I can confirm it can be done on either faction for the Ready for War achievement to get the Dark Iron Dwarves. I got it and them when I had only completed that achievement on a Horde character.
Yeah i was confused about that. Because it doesnt show i meet the requirements at the Iron Dwarf recruitment flag. I had completed the achievement to receive the Zandalari trolls, but had no idea it would eventually account for alliance as well.
If I had to guess, the Game Developers likely loosened the restrictions a bit, like they did with the reputation requirements. The in-game tooltips are not as easily updated, so either it hasn’t been done yet, or could be considered a bug.
Good luck on the rest of the Mechagon line. Prince Erazmin should have “The Resistance Needs YOU!” so you can finish the qualifications to pick up the “Urgent Care” quest and unlock the Mechagnome.
Can now confirm. After you complete the quest of touring Rustbolt with the Prince, you’ll be able to access the Urgent Care quest (As long as you meet requirements) and can continue from there. Thank you guys for help and guiding in the right direction. I hope this helps those in the future who might have the same problem and reading the same forums i have as well.
