Now you’re saying something else entirely by talking about adding artificial inflation. And the system doesn’t decay unless there’s a system in place where decay happens for those who sit. Inflation helps new players earn more rating because there is more rating in circulation to overcome those who are sitting, but they don’t replace the rating, it’s added on. And they’re not producing a “net negative amount of points for the system compared to whose place they took,” whatever that means.
You also haven’t created an overall point. You’re continuing to describe very random things.

You can’t have a net negative system unless there is rating decay because MMR is zero sum. The rating is still there, even if the players aren’t queuing because they are sitting. And yes, inflation does help with this. Also, top players themselves do not inflate the system; it is new players who inflate the bracket in a static system with no artificial inflation.
