The only reason I play WoW is for PvP, We never got a reason as to why Grobbulus was specifically targeted to get locked, it wasn’t even close to being dead it never even had Low Population and is the ONLY PvP server for MoP. An S tier expansion for PvP, only to be horribly mishandled and butchered for no reason at all. Always finding a way to make the game worse, warmode with retail, locking all the pvp servers, why do I bother having a subscription?

There is PVP in BGs and arena. That is where most people mean when they say PVP. The other small percent are just people that want to gank and grief lowbies. WPVP died in OG Vanilla when BGs opened.

Well, that’s just plain wrong. You might not have liked it personally, but it was still happening and continued to happen throughout every expansion, and I can speak on that from personal experience from TBC to part way through BFA. In terms of Classic, this was also the case through at least the end of TBCC. Can’t speak for anything past that since I wasn’t really engaging in it anymore (and also Pagle Horde died so there wasn’t really anyone to fight at that point).

Outside of the occasional griefer/ganker, the mass battles died. People would call out a group killing NPCs somewhere and no one cared
The community has spoken, turns out they wanted to raid log PvE instances all this time.
They did finally unlock grob a few weeks ago (with no explanation). Left it unlocked long enough for people to get their hopes up, couple of weeks, then relocked it again (with no explanation).
As a long time grob forced transferee to pagle (due to blizz mishandling, lack of communication, one sided-fwobiles hot take on servers decision, basically blundering the whole thing) I can say that pagle is spiritless for anyone that enjoyed the part of the game that grob offered, wpvp, no matter however small it may have become).. The people complaining here don’t understand that, and blizz killed it by locking the server.. Not the players that want to keep it going.

People enjoyed MoP PvP for battlegrounds and arenas. Not camping low level players or ganking low health players.

It’s World PvP. The entire point is ganking and camping.
My spicy take is that people like WPvP in classic/tbc because they can pick rogue or mage and ruin the hopes and dreams of some noob who thought they’d have fun playing with their favorite streamer.

You clearly have no experience in WPVP, its not just ganking lowbies at all. Im originally from Emerald Dream where the entire community revolved around WPvP. I honestly feel sorry for you that you never experienced anything beyond instance pvp and pve

Don’t blame blizzard for grob being locked. Blizzard tried to support grob when they did the server mergers in october by offering the other pvp realms free transfers there.
No one took it and then for months grob players made topics about opening grob up to transfers to the mega server.
Blizzard did that near the start of Feb which is why grobb is locked its a legacy server now only those with characters on it are still there.
Except that on other legacy servers it’s still possible to create new characters for those who already have one on the server.
Grobullus is the only one where it’s impossible to create a new character (even if you already have one).
Why this different treatment?
At least allow those who have a character on the server to continue creating new ones.

Nah, flying actually killed the original fun form and function of world PvP. It became who could catch you off-guard with a fly-by or waiting above or even abusing flight mechanics.
Sorry, that was off topic. But even though I’m done with PvP servers, yes they should unlock it if it’s the only one left.
Grobb is a legacy server, as all the other old servers. Just accept it and move on.

Grob wasn’t a pvp server, it was a ***RP-***PVP server. People who neither appreciate nor understand that don’t deserve Grob. The whole point of the pvp was to blend with rp…if all you wanted was wpvp, then you were tolerated at best. Grob stayed faction balanced until all the pvp’ers, who were done ruining their own servers, invaded and demanded to be catered to. This happened back in the day, too.

As far as I know you can’t create chars on any of these legacy realms. They are legacy for a reason.
