Its like that in retail,why cant a troll be a warlock or a tauren paladin be a paladin? Makes no sense and it works great in retail

OP, the devs take a mossberg later on to shoot up lore. Patience…the time comes when racial lockouts make no sense.

More specifically, what does the Horde know about the Light? The paladin was the quintessential Alliance class, slowly reduced and retconned (along with the Light itself) to being one dimensional.
Would have been nice if they unlocked the cataclysm options for the rehosts.

Taurens can literally use every school of magic a mage can in vanilla.
Tauren do not practice the Arcane though. And not the school of arcane represented in game (which is actually not Arcane at all), but rather druidism and shamanism. (And — more confusingly there is a difference between the Arcane “elemental” schools of fire and frost and the natural elements summoned by a shaman.)

I can probably tolerate a tauren priest, but a tauren paladin is sheer blasphemy.

Listen im really stupid and have no idea what manga youre reading but Taurens in game can literally use Arcane, fire and frost magic.
Idc about the nerd stuff other than they can use all 3 schools of magic.
That come in Cata. I race changed my Blood Elf to a Tauren for the entire expac when that happened.
And there was a LORE reason for why they allowed that to happen. No like now where almost everyone can be anything with zero lore behind it.

I will be 100% for it if they dont have RBGs and instead have the exact same Classic title PvP system we used to have. I would grind out R14 on this toon so fast if they did that. I would play nonstop. I have less than 100 days/played time on my pally PvP titled toon. I barely play it. I would begin to play that and this toon lots if they did that.
OG R14, not the new stuff. How will people like you or I even find a group to do the grinds we did the way they were back in the day when so few people play?
If they bring back PvP titles the way they were in Classic, not add RBGs, allow us to have time travel so we can see the old zones ruined by the Cataclysm then yea, I might like it a little bit
BUT they force you into being stuck to one talent tree only in Cata if I remember right.
They did something with the talents that I absolutely hated, cant remember what but I think that was it, lots of other people hated it too.

And Trolls not being able to be druids from the get go only makes partial sense because of all the different troll tribes abandoning most of their early beliefs, which is probably why in Vanilla the Loa didn’t play too big a role in the game.
Then go play retail.
I mean to be fair not every single race can be everything I mean a human can’t be a shaman and a orc can’t be a palliden To be fair but I personally wouldn’t have an issue if they opened up more options for classes.
