So as a self proclaimed Vashj’ir fanboy, I’m left wondering. Is there anything interesting off the coasts of the zones in this game? Anything worth leveling a Druid just to get the swimming form and explore the bottom of the oceans? Heck, even interesting things at the bottom of lakes would be enough.
I’ve heard there’s a submerged Gnome town somewhere off Kalimdor. I don’t know exactly where, but it’s apparently in the fatigue zone.

Ooh, this is the type of thing I need to be looking for.
Right in the middle of the 3 zones in kul tiras is a sunken inn complete with dancing pandas, giggling gnomes, a drunk giant, and turtle vendors

There are several underwater Tortollan bars around KT/Zand off the coastlines. One of them has an ominous kraken silhouette off in fatigue zone.

I don’t think I’ve seen that. Would love to see something even deeper in the ocean. Really require water breathing and swim speed.
in BfA theres actually “dive bars”. underwater bars that get water breathing when you get into them. unique drinks too thats part of an achievement

I used to like Vashj’ir but after playing Subnautica, those vast bottomless depths give me shivers. Expecting to hear that dreadful roar while exploring the depths.

If you can still get Legion’s Underlight Angler, farming that up may actually be slightly less time than leveling a Druid just for more efficient swim speed.
Plus, you can do everything on your chosen character, and not a random swimming Druid.
I use mine all the time and it is fantastic.

This is one of the things that I miss the most about EQOA from almost 20 years ago on the PS2. There were all these exotic, high level, unbeatable creatures in the ocean. Legit scared the hell out of me cause you’d be busy watching a kraken 100 yards in front of you when a giant squid would come one shot you from behind. Got actual jump scares out of me.
Thats the one that got me thinking about it a while back. Such an amazing game.
I swear I mean to get that but always get busy doing something else.

There’s a submerged tortollan town off the coast of zuldazar. You can also always find interesting little wrecks offshore.

i love this thing in twin peaks. i have it to the swim buff and when i run flags, ill throw it on and jump in the water. nobody likes water combat and i can swim up the river with the flag still and go for a quick cap.
There actually a ton of caves,boats, ruins, ect around the old expansions with loads of weird stuff in them. If you get bored like i do. i swim around. Never no what you find. Best one is the four sailors around camp fire off timeless island.
Is that the one in the cave that lets you skip the WoD intro?
I do not know. There a wod one that allows you to skip the garrison thing.
I Googled that but all I found was a Nancy Drew game. Not as interesting as crash landing, Launchpad would’ve been proud, on an alien world with fancy future tech to explore with.
…Um. I was thinking more along the lines of a time traveling dolphin who fights aliens. One of the creepier levels has you poking around an airless pitch-black cave with H.R. Giger monsters capable of instakilling you.
Hearing the name Ecco again makes me wish for a Steam version of the Dreamcast game. I still remember the day I bought it, it blew me away.
